For those not riding the Hillbilly Dualsport this weekend, some riders are meeting at the Lake Perry ORV area at 2PM this Saturday, March 29.

Perry Lake ORV is closed when it is too muddy. They post the daily OPEN/CLOSE status here (Thanks, Stu):

Wooo-hooo. What a blast.

Stu led us around and showed all a great time. Conditions were good, with some mud holes to avoid (Tracy / Hayden wasn't around the sink the good Honda Titanic in any bottomless pits).

Troy seems to now be happy with his new bike. I was riding it across the flat open section near the parking lot, 3rd gear, 30 mph, throttle roll-on brought the front wheel up.

My new-to-me bike, 400 MXC, certainly showed its differences from the 400 LC4 I used to ride on these rides: more hp / less torque, 50 lbs lighter. Front wheel comes up quite a bit easier. Gears are a lot closer ratio as well. Very happy with my purchase.

Michael Bishop was riding his first-ever dirt bike on his first-ever dirt and did awesome. He put the 400 RXC where it needed to be.

Lots of other folks who also did well, but I forget or never knew their names.

See many of you in Arkansas later this coming week.

Yup. Very happy with the TE450 now. Still wish that pipe was on the right side, but I did not melt my pants today..so it's all good!

Yeah, thanks, Stu! I would have gotten lost and probably stuck in a mud hole without your expert guidance. Thanks also for riding my TE450 and giving me your glowing opinion. I don't have the experience to compare it. You do--so your opinion matters to me. I absolutely loved your 250! Thanks for letting me ride it.

We had 10 guys following Stu around today. A great group indeed.

The ORV area is behind the Dam, on the east end. Real easy access from Highway 24.

Thanks, I think I've found it. It's closed this weekend, but I'm really looking foreward to seeing it open. I just bought a klr250 I want to try out on some interesting trails this year.

The website says it's open. What makes you think it's closed? Was thinking of heading out there myself.

The website said it was closed last night due to muddy conditions. Want to meet here in leavenworth about noon and ride out there tomorrow?

I got impatient and taking a chance on it being open, I left to head out right after I posted. It is open right now, may have been closed yesterday with some mud but isn't too bad today.

Looks like I'll be teaching someone to ride tomorrow, so I'm going to try it next weekend.
