Off road ride Sunday 2/24

Anyone want to ride off road this Sunday. I'll be down at our ranch this Sunday. There is about 6,000 acres of fields, woods, rocks, strip pits to ride on. Oh, there may be some mud... It is located just southeast of the LaCynge power plant and south of Amsterdam, MO.

Whoa! Thanks, Jim! And normally, I'd want to take you up on that. My only bike is at Flatland Racing in Emporia for some prototyping, and I've got plans already--since I knew I'd be bikeless. It will be muddy no doubt! Have fun, and thanks again for the invite.

Hey Jim, thanks for the offer, if it still stands in a few weeks I would love to see you place. just a bit too cold and wet for a old fart like myself. My bike needs to and wants to come out and play, but not me

Troy whats your bike doing in Emporia ? I called Flatlands about disc guards a week ago and they said no way, so I hope thats part of it. With Rooster being out of the business it could be a good time to jump in with both feet for Flatlands.

Back to Jim------ I would like to ride with you at your place, my place, or anywhere for that matter. Darn weather is gonna break one of these days and we will all be having some fun :P .

Over and out, David H

Dave Rooster was bought by Motosportz and they have their Husky store at: http://www.motosportz.com/HVA-SS/HVA-SS-Home.htm I looked and the disc guards are not available, but send them an email and Kelly should respond quickly to their status.

Jim, I too would love to come riding, the mud and cold are making me a whimp too.

Well I did crash twice pretty hard the time before last when I went down there. I was just going along straight when bam I was on the ground. After picking myself and the bike up I walked over to where I could see my front tire had washed out... on a nice tiny flat depression still full of ice. Later I was cooking along pretty good and came up on some really bad ruts from the farm trucks and went around them. Hit some soft stuff and the rear kicked out to the right then it hooked up and launched me. I slowed way down and called it a day. I thought two stunners like that riding alone was pushing my luck!

The conditions might not be the best this Sunday but I'm going. If no one else can make it that's fine. I'll extend the offer again for sure. My daughter has been making noises about wanting "get really good and dirt biking and go racing." So she might come down and ride on the TTR125. But then again she is a freshman in high school and seems to get distracted easily if she gets a "better offer." The wife may come down too and play with her horses. Me, I'm not much on the horses - bad brakes, sloppy steering, and way too much spooge!

Sounds great, if you were closer I'd be there in a heartbeat. Maybe I'll have more time for the drive in the future.

I was supposed to go with my son to a Boy Scout "Skills Camp" this weekend. But he is now in the doghouse with mom for getting way behind on homework. So she may cancel his attendance at the camp. That would mean I would be available to go to the ranch. Good work son...

So maybe I can host some ridin' down there this weekend.

I've got a LOT-o-crap to do this weekend, but a guy needs to ride, too. So I'm watching this thread, Jim. If you host some riding at the ranch, I may fire up the Husky.

Where is your place? I thing I heard it is south of KC but not sure. I have some land in Miami, Linn and Bourbon County. I'll be down there this weekend turkey hunting. If your place is close to mine maybe we can get together.

Or if the link does not work go to http://maps.google.com and enter 38°18'56.22"N 94°35'37.23"W in the search box. The above should show a rough border of the ranch. Riding the next two weeks will be retricted to the top half due to a bird dog trial this weekend and some extreme cowboy horse race next weekend. Whoops realized I included the Massacre State park in the lower right hand side. We don't own that! One of our partners and another guy owns the land around it I'm told. Need to explore that area still... Still not sure if I'm headed to the boy scout campout or not.

I have been around that area quite a few times. Last year I took Troy and Mike to the Massacre Site on the way back from my place in Bourbon County. I also own a small duck lake near Boicourt, it joins the Boicourt Hunting Club. We need to get together one of these day.
