troy wrote:Hey, Dennis, remember struggling to walk/drag our bikes down this hell hill?! As usual, the photo does not do justice. This was a nasty, steep hill. One I'll avoid in the future. We broke the "don't go down something you can't get back up unless you are sure there is another way out" rule. I remember both of us holding the bike, brakes locked, skiing along side as we held on.

Your right Troy, that was quite a hill. It may have been a trail once, but had long since been abandoned and is now just a steep down hill run off.

Randy,

The bag on my front fender is not a tool bag(tho I suppose you could use it as one). It is for a front tube, tire irons and co2. That doesn't weigh much and is no problem for the rfs front fender. Tools might be.

p.s, I keep my tools in a bag behind the seat.

The "old guy" who rode me under the table? The guy who every morning was the first one suited up, helmet on, sitting on bike, pointed towards the trail? Glad to have you back, Dennis! I added your name to the list in the first post. We are up to 29 riders.

Dennis, the "old guy", in action

Hey Dennis, I see that you have a tool bag on the front of your RFS. Does it stay there without problems? I've recently made the switch from an LC4 to an EXC (525 too, OMG!) and am wondering how well these flimsy EXC fenders hold up with a little weight on 'em.

P.S. How old is considered "old" nowadays! I'll be 47 by the time I get to this ride and I dont see an end this 2 wheeled fasination of mine any time soon. WOO-HOO!

Thanks, Randy.

Guys...I am leaving tomorrow with an undetermined return date. There is a chance I wont make it back in time...in that case, you all have an awesome ride and we will try again in the fall. God willing, I will make this ride.

Not sure what kind of email/Internet I will have...so I may be REALLY gone.

Peace out!

Get back safely in one piece and hopefully in time for the ride too. Kinda like the 4 rules of TSD Rallys:
Stay on course
Stay on course
Stay on course
Stay on time

Sean,

This kind of stuff is exactly why I got out of the Air Force in '96 when I was starting a family. Gone 6 mos. out of the year and sometimes only home a few days before the next trip. It's tough.

Just a quick note to touch base. All packed up...planes are loaded...time to go.

With God's mercy and a bit of luck I will see you all in April.

Peace,

Sean
