Ha! That's funny, Troy. The old nail trick. My buddy thinks it's a conspiracy by "those people" who hate us knobby folks. He's funny like that. However, we did find nails strewn across the OHV trails in Topeka. Hmmm.....
Poor David had flat #2 and #5 of the trip (mine were #3 & #4). I think I'm gonna have to break to curse before he'll ride with me again.

Yea, the joke was on David. We made him backtrack a couple of times - he got two flats! I had a great time, now this route will be my nemesis until I complete the whole thing. I mentioned on the ride I wouldn't mind riding it in two part just to see the whole route. Maybe a Lawrence-Atchison-Lawrence route and a Atchison-white cloud-atchison loop.
Did we mention we ran into Troy's old flame at the Wathena burger joint. I think this lady is half bloodhound. We weren't there 5 minutes before she came in and sat down beside us. Troy - she was really upset when we told her you had a child by another woman!

Pat, we need to firm up plans for the Stampede. I'm thinking trailer down and camp.
That works for me. I was thinking about leaving after work on Friday. That should give us enough time to get over to the camp ground and get the tent up before dark.
I'm thinking on the next attemped at the Atchison loop we have a required tubes and pump check in before we leave....
? Kind of funny with all the Hare scrambles and enduros I've done I've only DNF'ed once, we go on a DS loop and DNF - thats said

I hear ya. I've never had a flat during a race/enduro, but the courses are practically nail free!
Pre-ride equipment check isn't a bad idea. I'm re-stocking tubes tomorrow. And I'm thinking about this little toy along with the CO2 cartridges:

The worst part of the flat repair is airing it back up. The Mtn Bike pump just doesn't cut it.
Stampede: I'm planning to be ready early Friday. I'll give you a call.

So David was so paranoid people would find out he was behind the nails that he even gave himself 2 flats?! Wow. That guy is committed...or should be.

Now hold on one stinkin' minute. Let's get the facts straight. I am guilty of luring her over to the table--I mean look at me, you can't blame any woman for wanting me--but it was quite clear that Kevin was her man. We practically had to drag Kevin out of there.
So did she have her motorcycle and dog photos ready to whip out and share with all like last time?

Nope, a photo of snaggletoothed Tracy might fit in better.

I can't keep quiet any longer. you guys had better just stay away from my side dish.
I agree with Mike, Tracy's new look would fit better for photo ops...

Sounds like Kevin is taking a few road trips to Wathena on the "Hog". Maybe his bike will be on her credit card next year.

Ok, how many don't like UPS? The company that I bought my bike compressor from sent me a tracking number for UPS. Well it showed up at the Lenexa depo. yesterday at 5:04 pm. But, per there tracking info it says it's not to be delivered till the 4th. That bites....

When I lived in Wichita, a couple times something similar happened to me with UPS and I was able to drive down to the depot in the evening and personally pick up the item. If you are desperate, that may be an option.

No, just anoid that they just let things sit there instead of getting packages to customers early. I preffer Fedx.

You might want to look closely at the time / location info on the tracking.
I had a package shipped from the west coast that showed it in Lenexa 12 hours after it left Oregon. That was wrong. 2 days later the page looked a bit different and showed that it was in lenexa and would be delivered teh next day. As I doubt the groudn package took the air, it was probably on a train btw Oregon and Lenexa.
Not saying they don't keep packages at the warehouse (Why???), but just my observation.
BTW, as per electric pumps. ... go to WalMart and buy the cheapo $10 one. Undo the case and just carry the guts.
Or just carry a bicycle mini pump. Mt bike double action low pressure (not road bike high pressure). I had a bit of trouble figuring out that I was pushing it too far onto the schrader valve stem, but after that no trouble. It stays velcroed to my handlebar cross bar. Light, easy to use, and quicker than you think (20 psi aint much).
