NW Riley County 7/22

Ok, Ok, it's a ride from last weekend but I had to share. I decided to take a ride up north of the Randolph area. Some of you might remember this country from Luc's Riley/Clay Co. ride last summer. I created my own route but ended up on a lot of the same route Luc covered. I decided to stay more easterly and didn't get too far into Cay county. There is a lot of low maintenance roads in the corner of Riley, Clay, Marshall and Washington county. Seems like the county forgets about the roads along the edge of county lines. I took just a few pictures, one road in particular got my attention, I think it's a branch off of Maridahl Rd. There's a couple more abandoned roads up there, I just can't seem to find them now. I did ride into the NE clay county, there were more low maintenance roads than maintained roads. The most current KDOT map for Clay Co. is definitely out of date (1992), I had to back track 3 times for roads that no longer existed. We need to recruit some of those Clay Center boys to lead a ride in their county some time. Hopefully this fall I can put together a route of the "best of the best". Here's a link to Sunday's photos.

P.S. I had to keep stopping to clear spiders off my goggles on Maridahl road, felt like I was in a horror movie.
