Sat Oct 17: Bird Farm Trail Ride

The bird farm trails are finally in shape to ride again now. After being flooded 4 times last summer we are ready to do a ride. In a couple weeks the dips by the cars area will finally be dry enough to ride through for the first time in a couple years, provided it doesn't rain again. Those who are familiar with the farm will notice a few changes due to water damage and fallen trees. The woods are beautiful this fall.
The farm has plenty of space, fresh air, and sunshine, makes it a safe place. I like to think of it as a no fear zone.

I am planning/hoping to host a ride sometime in October. Haven't set a date yet but hope to soon, so just a heads up so you can plan. Thinking 2nd or 3rd weekend of October.

The calendar has been checked over and the date is decided for the no fear Bird Farm trail ride.
Saturday Oct. 17 is the date.
Come in the morning or whenever you can make it and stay as long as you like.
Parking will be on the grass in the shady area east of the windmill.
This year you will be on your own for lunch and drinks , if you come through Garnett on the way out I would recommend stopping at the Yoder community store to pickup fresh made sandwiches and any thing else needed for a trail lunch. That is where we buy the stuff for the lunches. In fact you can just tell the gal at the deli that you want a "Larry sandwich" they will fix you right up with the custom sandwich I order. (smoked turkey ,Beef and cheese) for under $4 for the sandwich. They have most everything else you will need also.
I will post additional info as I think of it or as questions arise.
We will have ride waiver forms to sign

I have added some very tight through sapling trees single track and there are some gullies and crossing dried up enough to ride. Some of them we have not ridden before and the rest , has been several years since they have been ridable.

This saturday the 17 is almost here ,the date for the bird farm trail ride.
The trails are in top condition,if you like not muddy
,the leaves are turning and it is beautiful in the woods.
There are lots of "off trail options" now due to the dry conditions

JUst a reminder we will not be serving a lunch this year
Our county is a mask optional county

come prepared to have a good time of bike riding and fellowship , it has been two years since the last ridefourm trail ride at the bird farm.

I would stop by but I didn't have MN guests coming this weekend. They are riding down on a 1200GSA on Friday. If they feel like a day ride on Saturday, we may swing by to say hello.

No Lars ... boy has a cast from his toes to just below his knee (all for a broken middle toe ...).
Looking forward to seeing y'all.

Really great day! Thanks, Larry & Dena! Here is a video I threw together from Kyle's videos and pics. My nephew Zachery really enjoyed riding! He rode more that day than all of his other riding combined so far! I didn't put a lot of effort into this video and I'm not good at that sort of thing anyway, but here ya go. There is no sound for the first bit---so do not crank your speakers up. :)

So glad the kids and everyone had a good time.
everyone having a good time and making memories makes it well worth the effort
(what a day of positive influence for the young ones)
