Too quiet so...
Here's a random pic of a minimum maintenance road somewhere in Kansas.
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.

Last weekend in the northern flint hills .....Halls ravine ...it’s really good in the trees just ahead
.
Buck snort road ..... seriously.... good stuff
Last weekend (4 days) home to Abilene to Nebraska border near Marysville then south staying in the flint hills to the Alma area. From Alma south and departed the route for home at Cottonwood Falls. For the weekend 710 miles all backroads with an above average of them looking like these pictures. Will finish the route from Cottonwood Falls to the Oklahoma border south of Cedarvale later.
The route we are riding is called FHADV

Several miles of this south of Diamond Springs. If you can zoom in on the hill behind my bike it is more fun than it might appear at a distance

Sept 2018. Winona Missouri. Doing LooseNutz's tracks from last Nov. Me, Larry, EdM, and Snowman
Tracks:
https://advrider.com/f/threads/loose-nu ... 8.1343605/
The basic tracks are ok for a big bike. You need to be ready to turn around at times of course. Best to travel in a group. We ran into a large group of Husky 350s doing parts of it at the Bixby diner. For once the KTMs were out numbered.
Some sections of this ride have already been abandoned by the County. It's pretty crazy how much fire roads can change in a year. His "knobby A & B" sections are pretty tough for any large bike. A is ok for a 690 but B not so much, you better be good and enjoy getting lost in the woods & creeks. Quad trails I guess we'd call them. I was having fun most of the time on the 350 but once it got really hot (94F?) I was ready for some gravel. There are some great sections of two track and easy woods riding.
Here I am after loosing my chain in a spill and getting it back on again. Todd did great getting his Africa Twin down this track to the creeks.

Whoa--that looks like a very gnarly "road" to take an Africa Twin down.

That link is to his Indiana ride tracks. I'd like to see his Winona, MO tracks if you can find them. Thanks!Creekside wrote: ↑15 Oct 2018 07:29 Sept 2018. Winona Missouri. Doing LooseNutz's tracks from last Nov. Me, Larry, EdM, and Snowman

Some parts of this are not public & some parts are under water, or closed, use with eyes open (not saying this to you Troy I know you know how to ride, just to a general reader who googled his way here). Lot's of really nice two track stuff for big bikes.
I got some "fixes" on his and Sieg's 2015/2016 PHBR tracks from Bixby MO, which are not much different, at home, if you want, PM me. These tracks as-is are really good. 'Knobby' & 'Big Boy' extra tracks are not generally big bike friendly. The icons don't lie so if it says deep, it means deep. You can get Loose Nut's and Sieg's tracks on this board and Advrider, I have posted them on here before. Just find my previous posts from years ago. You can mix in some of Big Dog's MO tracks as well - and remember he rides a small ds bike - some of his stuff was pretty cool in that area also and easy.

Nice shots Snarfie! I need to head down into that area for a 3 day weekend sometime. I'll bet there is some great riding there.

Always liked this one. Tallgrass Prairie Reserve northern Oklahoma on the way home from a OSU vs Mizzou football game where I ran into Barry Sanders in the parking lot.
