Well the big Marquette rally is this weekend. Was going to head up on Sat morning and probably eat Breakfast, look around then head up around the lake. I dont have a route but will load up some Topos of the area and wonder around. If anyone is going up, hollar at me. I will be on the Adventure in Motorcross gear.

Wish I could have ridden with you Trace! I haven't made it to the Marquette rally yet. Monica and I took off work Friday and drove to KC to meet our new neice. We then drove home in the middle of the night so we could help Monica's dad remove his old guttering and install new permanent fascia....lots of fun. How was your ride? Is the Marquette thing worth experiencing?

Yea it was a good time. I actually hooked up with some other guys and headed up around the lake. We found some good riding with some pretty open country. The Ralley itself is kinda crazy. Since its a 2 day event it has a lot more venders, food out the yin yang, bands, and races. Found an HP2 with Motard set up. It looked pretty fun.
Of course I had to wait till everyone had split off and go home to have my monumental wipeout. I was doing pretty good all day getting back in the grove of riding the Adv. Once everyone had split off, I took a different pace once by myself. I think this is why it happend. Got caught up in a wimpy little rut coming out of a low washed out area on a MMR. The front tire came out and tank slapped me to the ground on the right side. Tweeked the front end pretty good and I now have some battle scars on the tank. Took a few mins and got the front end straight with the world.......or at least straight with the handle bars. This is when I discovered that all 4 bolts were gone on the low tripple tree clamping the shocks.
How the heck did I snap off all 4 bolts???? Well ends up they were just gone, not broke off. Had to been my own fault when I greased the SHB over the winter. Must not have torqed those down or something. After that I hit the Hwy and took it easy on the way home.
Met the guy that heads up the 4 Strokes . com group and even saw another 640 adv during the day. All and all a good trip. 260 miles
Hey!!! BTW I met a guy from Newton that just happed along and we made him go with us. An X motorcross racer that was ride'n a DRZ. Said he didnt have anyone to ride with and he was all stoked about the MMRs we were hitting so I think Im going to hook up with him on Cassody weekend in June and show him some riding out in the Flint hills. Come along if you can. He should be showing up here on the site I hope. I gave him some info and told him about the AR trip. He seemed interested in that too.

Maybe we can blame your wipe-out on the four missing bolts???...sounds good to me!
I just checked the calendar and I am on call for work the first weekend of June, which means no riding for me.
