I am going to rip up some trails this Saturday. Perry is my first choice but could also go to School Creek as an alternate. I rode Perry for the first time on the Trail Maintenance day. I thought the trail quality was better than expected there and would like to go back and enjoy it longer!
My plan would be to pack a lunch, arrive at the trails between 9 and 10, then ride until the smile fades.

I may have to join, my friends are busy on Saturday, and I was needing to make a trip to Topeka this weekend anyway.

The latest forecast calls for a low of 20 overnight Friday! Time to winterize your stuff!!
It could seriously be in the low thirties Saturday morning thru the am hours. I am thinking of leaving late morning, sitting down to some lunch somewhere in Topeka, then get a good half-day of riding in after noon. Any suggestions on where to eat near the HWY 75 and 24 junction?

As of 10/30 @ 5 PM national weather says:
"Friday Night Widespread frost after 1am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 24. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Saturday Widespread frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 49. South wind 5 to 15 mph."
I will be there after the frost. Around noon.
Topeka is a good restaurant desert. Come on into Lawrence. I can take you to some great places and we can leave from there to ride. Wheatfields Bakery and restaurant comes to mind. Gimme a call. 785.841.9886.

I might try and come up about noon, depending on how a couple other things pan out Sat AM. If you go south on 75 right off the 75/24 interchange, you will see a bunch of fast food, Wendys, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Hardees, Taco Bell, etc, there is a couple of good oriental buffets, (the one behind the dairy queen is best. Right on 24 around the 75/24 junction there is a Sonic, Spangles, and a Dickeys BBQ. I think Topeka is the nations capitol when it comes to fast food and used car dealers.....

Thanks for the offer Stu, "Wheatfields Bakery" just sounds like a good place! I know it is not that far, but I won't be taking the time to go to Lawrence this trip. I will spend as much time in the morning with Family as I can. I think I will just swing through beautiful North Topeka, grab some fast food and a used car, then hit the trails.

GREAT day of riding guys! A big thanks to Terry and Stu for showing us around the trails.
My KTM must have been really tired today because it kept wanting to lie down. Not sure what that was all about.
I ended the day muddy, tired, and smiling so it was a good day!
