3rd annual bird farm trail ride Oct. 25

Lets give Oct. 25 a try for the bird farm trail ride. The long range forecast has rain that weekend (which will change numerous time by then). The trails are perfect right now and the weather is perfect also. I am leaving Oct. 18 and 19 open as options for those of you who may not be able to come on the 25. So if you want to ride sooner and later or can't come on the 25 give me a call and we will set up a time for you to ride.
This is a family event so feel free to bring the whole family even if they don't all ride. Most of the trails are 4-wheeler/utv friendly if you want to enjoy them that way. The trails are all right here at the farm so you are never far from your car. Our trails are all mowed and clear of brush so you should be able to go for a walk and not get ticks and etc.
We will make lunch plans when the time is closer and we see how many are planning to ride.
Just to let you know , when you are coming to the farm from Garnett on 7th street, a mile out of town there is a little store called "Yoders Country Store" they now have a deli with several different meats and cheeses. You can buy it by the lb. or "your Mom" will make you a sandwich while you wait. I think they would have everything one would need for a lunch or snacks. It is a nice little store.
Two way traffic on the bridge is not recommended but can be done if your riding skils are sharp enough.
We will have ride waivers to sign.
Please contact me or post here if you want to come ride.

It is sure kind of you to open them up to others.
You are close enough for me to hunt in the morning, ride your trails and hunt in the evening.

Looks like we will have a good group for the 25th. There are 4-5 others that are coming besides the ones posted.
We have a rider coming on the 18th so if you want to come on that date you won't be alone.
I will pick up the meat and cheese at the Country store and make some bread for our lunch on the 25th. We can make sandwiches and if each family will bring something to go with our sandwiches , chips, or whatever and drinks.

I'll bring a homemade dessert of some sort. Hopefully there will be quite a few younger ones riding around...

Trying to make this work. I've got several mini recruits that would really like to come out. Will try to confirm within the next few days. Thanks again for opening your place up for riding - such a great opportunity.

Sat. oct. 18 ride went quite well. We had 5 different riders show up through the day. All had a good time and Dena and I enjoyed sharing the day and trails with everyone.
For those of you planning to come ride who have not been here before. Our trails are mostly in the woods along the creek varying from 4-wheeler to handlebar width. The places that are handlebar width are right on edge of the creek bank threading thru trees, although for those places I have made "easy" go arounds and I have those "easy go rounds" sign posted. Several different people have successfully ridden our trails on 650 -1200 cc bikes. On the larger bikes it will test your skills and wear you out more quickly......but the fun factor goes up if you ride a smaller bike.
For the upcoming ride on Oct. 25.
I have had 5 more riders say they are planning to come , besides those whom have posted here , if the weather holds it looks like we will have a good group.

Larry, I plan to be there, hope to bring the wife. If she comes we would be on a Polaris rzr. 50 inch wheel base, will that get us to some fun spots? If she can't make it I will be on the dr650, and try to keep up with all you pro/ semi pro type riders
. Let me know what you would like me to bring. I have a good cheese filled hot or semi hot pepper popper recipe that will please anyone that likes heat. Same cheese and a mild pepper should be good for the rest, assuming they like peppers. I could do baked beans if you would rather have that.
Rain, rain go away let us ride the bird man trails today, David H

Dave, yes you will be able to get around with the razor , you will have to take the easy go rounds. The crops are all out of the fields so you can get any where on the farm and the trails along the field edge. You can even cross the bridge over ivy gulch it is 60 inches wide. Poppers sound good just make it easy on yourself. Looking forward to seeing you.

I've got a pr of kids pants my kids out grew. They would fit a 5 to small 8 yr old. They're not new but better than blue jeans. Free if you can use them.
I have a front fender bag I don't use, I think its Moose brand. Free. I can bring them this weekend. LMK, Thanks

Larry what's the head count on people planning to arrive this Saturday? I ask because I will probably be bringing tasty cupcakes.
Maybe Luc will have enough room that we could bring some soda's and H2O on ice?
If anyone is looking to buy a good, solid bike, I could probably bring my '99 KTM 200. $1700

The trail photo looks great Larry.
I can't decide if I should ride my Tiger or my DRZ out. Decisions, decisions...
