Weather permitting, I plan on riding the Vee to Sedan, KS for the MotoTriais National round the weekend of 5/31 - 6/1. If you've never seen a trials National I highly recommend it. Last one I attended in NE a few years back was really cool, it's amazing what these guys do on a motorcycle. Prefer to go early Saturday morning and come back that night or might consider riding over to NW AR, spending the night and riding some on Sunday. KC to Sedan is a little over 200 miles.

I will be there one or both days depending on work, of corse depending on work I could get stuck there both days! Cville is where I layover for Union Pacific so its a secondary home town of sorts for about the past 7 years. Sedan is only about 10 miles to the west of there. If you come in from 69 the town is strange looking from aftermath of a flood a few years back. Alot of homes had to be torn down and the dirt removed when flood waters breached levays of the oil refinery. Three neat places to stop are...
1 the rest stop at 69 and 400 about 30 miles north of town and read historical marker about the murdering Bender family.
2 Dalton defender museum on east side of 9th or 10th street.
3 The Brown mansion thats also historic museum south of town a bit.

Plenty of restaurants but McDonald's(one of worst ever) and Caseys are only food after 9pm when it becomes a basic ghost town. Caseys of corse pizza but also makes sub sandwiches. Lannings on 9th is good breakfast and dinner and is your typical small town dinner. Theres a bbq joint on 69(11th) but theres no smoke so I dont know how its really bbq. And a sirloin stockaid that I wouldnt eat at for free, or stay in the attached hotel. Thats just a few that instantly come to mind but there are other places to eat.
I will post back here when it gets closer and I know my plans better.

I'm not happy that I missed it. Nothing like getting plans spoiled by work. Grrrr.

Thanks for posting about this event Bronco. One of these events this close to home was an opportunity I wanted to take advantage of. I managed to get my work arranged so I could leave, (thank you Dena and Luke). I would say what those riders do is more than impressive it is down right amazing. I would like to share some video that I recorded but have been unable to find a way to post it. It was a very relaxed family oriented atmosphere , every one was friendly and helpful. Had a really fun day.

This kid ready to start the section was 12 yrs old and as far as I could tell was on his own no parents near by to help him out if needed to. Anyway as he was going through the section his chained poped out of the rear sprocket and got jammed between the front sprocket and the rear arm. He tried to unjamm it by pushing it down with his feet but that did not work out. He thought he was stuck here until my father in law pull out his pocket knife and we went to work  Poped out the quick link unjammed the chain and put it back together and he was back in business.

I would have loved to try to clubman's line on the husaberg, granted I would have put a lot of feet down but I would have love to see if we could make it through ;-)
