I'm hoping I can break free from house remodel tasks for one last ride before baby is born. Not sure where I will go...likely something relatively close like Carbondale (Topeka area) or worse case Perry. If anyone is interested in coming along or has suggestions on locations, let me know.
Changed to 11/16....I've got a friend coming with me, but would certainly welcome anyone else.

Perry has gotten a bad reputation. I would guess it is from quads and from the severe erosion on some of the trails. It is still one of the best places to ride if you like challenges. Pretty muddy out there now after over 2" of rain over the past few days. Carbondale has no less mud and it has gotten pretty rutted out as well. I would just take the closer area and have fun. Sunday would be better for me, though.

I could probably go either Saturday or Sunday. I kinda forgot about how bad both places hold moisture...hopefully not too bad by weekend.

I haven't been to Carbondale in a few years, so I'd like to go there. I will call tomorrow to double check the place will be open. I plan to be there by 10:30...assuming it's not raining then. If it is, I might go a bit later in the day.

Carbondale (Santa Fe Cycle) is open tomorrow. For those that have never been, it's just south of Topeka, KS and is basically a harescramble course.
No ATV's. The trail's are miles of
single track with a few open sections and some hills. One lap is generally 6 to 7 miles in length and there are variations. It's also pretty much one way so you don't typically have to fear anyone coming at you around the bend. I believe it's $10 a day or $18 for a family.
My buddy and I will be there around 10:30 and would enjoy riding with anyone else that would like to come along.

I don't have a clue to what a harescramble course is. Is that big bike friendly ? Perry sure wasnt. I will probably be in the area tomorrow as t chance of rain is lower there. But mud is pretty much a no for me.

Creekside - Unfortunately, it's definitely not big bike friendly...sorry.
