5th Annual Bald Eagle Ride January 17-20, 2014

Ahhhhh, this weather reminds me of the last day of the 4th Annual Bald Eagle Ride.

Ah yes. Great memories. Lots of easy, V-Strom friendly roads. (CAUTION: video rated R for language)

I think its about 12 degrees warmer today. But the first part of the day, and the rest of the weekend made it all worth it.

I asked Santa for sunshine and above freezing. I hope I was good enough for that wish to come true.

Is it too early to start looking at weather forecasts? Based on the attached forecast, the 17th-20th is on the high side.

I was just at my in laws farm, near Hannibal, MO, and the gravel roads are still solid ice. It is going to take some warm days to get rid of the ice, especially in the shade.

Maybe we pick our battles? That is we ride where the ice isn't, and hopefully that includes more of where we want to be.

I'm feeling optimistic.

It was 50F yesterday when I left Durham. I walked out of the airport into single digits and haven't been warm since!

Eddie, you might have to change your AdvRider subtitle/tagline to "SOB on a BMW".

Your first post in that thread did remind me of a potential conflict for my attendance in the ride. My cat is getting old. She could go any day now. I probably should stay home to be with her. You guys have a great time!
