Kanopolis/Ellsworth County

Been Jonzin for some ride time the last couple weeks. With all the rain I knew anywhere near Manhattan would be muddy. I decided to spend some time exploring near Kanopolis Reservoir/Ellsworth county. I knew the soil around there was sandy so maybe it wouldn't bee so muddy.

Usually this time of year you would be contending with deep sand. Not so much this time, after 6 inches of rain, even sand can be challenging. There are some really nice low maintenance roads in Ellsworth county. Well worth my time to explore some more later this fall.

Kyle and I dualsported around Kanopolis Lake many years ago on our KLRs. It is a unique area. I've seen the Mushroom Rocks--pretty interesting. I did not know about the caves.

You would have been very close to Marquette, KS. Did you go see the motorcycle museum? Or have you already been there? I have not and want to go see it.

You seemed to be getting along quite well despite how muddy the roads look in your video. Thanks for sharing!

I'm amazed what passes for a road in Kansas.
