See you there, Randy. I thought about bringing the 350 since I haven't ridden it in a while, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm in touch with MacWildcat, and he is interested.
I'll post up when I hear back from him with more info.

"Chris- are you still going to be heading to Springfield, regardless of weather?"

Yep, some of my Springfield friends have been planning this get together for a while.

Wish I was going, that Maple Hill ride is a lot of fun.

I need to replace my front tire, but I am planning on joining you guys. I am a little bit apprehensive as the only bike I have at the moment is the 950. But if it is too much for me, I will peal off so that I do not hold you guys back.

See you there, Luc! Don't worry about being on the 950. I'll most likely be on my 990, so we can re-route around anything that might not be big bike friendly. I was thinking about bringing my 350, but I'll probably end up being too lazy to get it ready and the 990 is already good to go.

Troy- thanks for changing the title of this thread since the original one wasn't making sense anymore.

The Maple Hill route I most recently put together and lead a group on will definitely be too muddy for big bikes...probably nasty for anyone. The new Maple Hill loop is alot of fun, but better when it's a little drier.

I was thinking this week of basing a ride out of Alma. More rock in the road surfaces. My route would take us down to Little Egypt road and then over to Eskridge to ride the low maintenance back to Alma (include Box Turtle). About 80 miles round trip.
If you don't mind driving a few more miles to the west, it would be worth it for a better quality ride.

I was wondering about all of the minimum maintenance roads north of I-70 in your older Maple Hill loop (the one I was planning on riding this weekend). I'm definitely open to making a change to avoid a mudfest if that is what you think we should do.

Should we change the meet place to Alma at 9:30 instead? I'm fine with that if everyone else is.

Yes, especially those roads north of I-70 turn into major gumbo, plus some of them south of Maple Hill. Not sure if you have been down south of Alma, some neat roads.

I will be meeting up at the gas station in Alma, Sunday, at 0930 with anyone who shows up. My plan is to ride rock roads, and bomb selected smaller mud holes. :D

Since I have known MacWildcat, he has always liked to play in the mud....

That is why I prefaced my post saying that I would peal out with the big bike if it gets too iffy

Lol Luc! If I remember correctly that was one of your rides! The situation got even worse later on that morning, what a hoot.

I can meet you at Chili's at 8:45. I will probably be holding you back from you normal ride pace  . I have the Husky geared back to stock, so my cruising speed is about 50-55. Is your cruising speed still double digits, or have you advanced to super sonic?

If you need to work around a section it may be Box Turtle....I wonder what it would cost to air lift a KTM 950/990 out of a mud hole?

Sounds like big bikes are the way to go so I will be in Alma at 9:30 on my 800.
