Local to KC dual sport ride Sunday 10/21

Alissa and I are looking to get out on the dual sport bikes on Sunday, preferably local. It seems like I've been loading the bike in the truck or on the trailer too much lately. (Did I just say that?
) Honestly, it is more the thirsty truck that is causing this problem- if it weren't for that, I'd be somewhere cool EVERY weekend. With the Disney trip next weekend and being out of town what seems like every weekend since the summer heat cooled off, we want to keep this weekend low-key.
We were thinking about possibly doing the White Cloud run since it seems to be the most interesting combination of sights and roads without having to load up and haul somewhere more entertaining.
We'd be up for other recommendations as long as they can be done from Shawnee without doing too much pavement to get to the good stuff.
Let me know if anyone is interested and maybe we can get a ride going.

I would be interested but I'm not sure just yet. I was going to go run the kdx around at either Perry or Oakland on Saturday or Sunday. How far out is box turtle road and that minimum maintenance ride y'all did a while back? I am not sure I can commit to an all day ride though.

I thought about doing the Maple Hill loop, but that would require loading the bikes up and hauling out to west of Topeka. I think we're wanting to save some money, so we're trying not to have to use the truck to go riding. If we do a ride up north, it should be pretty similar time-wise to the runs we've done up there in the past.

I've got plans Sunday and both bikes are taken apart right now, but I think I could make Saturday work. Is that an option?

I think we were planning on riding mountain bikes on Saturday, plus I've got some other things going on so I think we're going to ride the dual sports Sunday for sure.
Do you have your Husky torn apart getting ready to put it up for sale?

Yes, it's gonna be for sale. That is after I replace it's broken clutch slave cylinder! Must have taken a pretty good whack somewhere in Frog Bayou. How is this for the listing:
2005 Husqvarna TE510 - The very best of Italian engineering featuring weird oil viscosity requirements, air filter buried under the battery, and flimsy/race grade bodywork. Looks great, crashed only by an experienced rider. Overheated once but immediately cooled down two days later in a creek. Lots of extras including: an oily bandanna, a manual written in Italian, and some broken turn signals.
Troy, I saw that KTM and I want it but the Husky has to go first.

Lol! I think you better list it on Craigslist and NOT post a link to this thread!

I would have liked to go but after riding at Oakland yesterday i woke up with a bad head ache, so riding is out until this goes away. Putting out the fires there did me in.
