Lol! Just admit it- you didn't want to leave your house at 5:30 on a Saturday morning! Sounds like a good plan- see you at 9 for some breakfast.

Wow! Great ride today, guys! It was cool when I pulled into the Depot Diner and saw 8 bikes. By the time breakfast was over, we had 11 riders.

We enjoyed some great weather and roads today. 245 miles total round trip for me from Overland Park. Once the 95 mile loop W of Leavenworth was finished, 6 of us rode the River Road up to Atchison to check out a "mystery bridge" I had seen on GMaps via satellite imagery. Turns out it's a fancy foot bridge for the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail.

From the bridge we cruised back into Atchison to enjoy a late lunch on the patio of the Mighty Mo Grill overlooking the Amelia Earhart bridge.

Once we finished eating, Ozarksrider took us on a little MO side river road ride and through the beautiful rolling hills N of Weston. From Weston folks went their own way to get home.

I didn't really take many good photos, but I took a few at our stops and one video. Enjoy them in their raw beauty here:

Nice meeting new folks and seeing those of you I already know.

Maybe next time we should look for something to the south? Then again there is still Marquette to be done. :D

Guys,

I think all agreed that most of the NW section of the route could be cut out--the rest of the route is really great stuff! So I tweaked the route to leave out the boring stuff.

More than that, I developed a section that connects the River Road just S of Atchison to the stuff W of Leavenworth. The result is a couple of options.

A 97 mile loop that runs you up the River Road to Atchison, then back South to the top of our West loop. This tweak includes 2 more miles of min maint and another low water crossing.

Or if you are short on time, skip the River Road and do just the stuff W of Leavenworth for a scenic, fun, twisty 77 miles.

See and download at DualsportMaps.com.

Awesome ride yesterday! It was good to get out with everyone on a perfect day for it. Troy- I think your new route combining last week's ride with yesterday's would be a good one.

Look forward to riding with everyone again soon. I should be able to get Alissa's KLX fixed this week, so I would imagine we'll be up for something next weekend, if anyone else is interested.
