Hey there, I am looking for some guys to ride with. I recently purchased a 2010 KLR, and she needs to get some break in miles on her. My days off are Monday and Tuesday. So if anyone would like to hook up and maybe do some gravel give me a shout. Thanks, Ride SAFE

I am surprised that you have not gotten any answers. There are a lot of dual sport riders out there that like riding gravel fast (Greenhoot is one). Ride out to the hare scramble track on Monday, pay your $5 and watch the action. Other dual sport riders will be there spectating as well. Hook up with them.

Thanks Stu, I thought everyone reading this was just ignoring me.
Sorry for the delay in response. I have been riding quite a bit lately with one member nearby. Currently have 892 miles on the odometer. I have come to the conclusion that all kinds of riding are my favorite just love riding that thing. Rode down Southeast of Ft. Scott recently lotta gravel. Thanks for the input. I'm going to put some one day rides together, if you know of any please advise.

I live in Lawrence. I have an XR650R fully street legal. I have many routes I ride out of here if you ever want to ride up here.

We've been intending to respond but just haven't been able to get out much. There a couple us riders who live close to you, Raintee Lake, and have flexibility so can ride on monday or tuesday. I'm busy this monday and tuesday and next week out of town those days but maybe the 20 or 21st. Let me know how the 20 or 21st works for you and I will talk to a couple other riders.

I guess I will have to call him and bug him. Is his 625 broken?

Hey guys, Sorry I haven't responded lately. My kid is in football and I have been picking him up in the mornings. Life gets busy some times. Let's just plan some rides and see who shows up. If anyone has an available morning sometime post it on here with time and place to meet.

No I think the 625 is fine, he took a job in Arizona for the summer. The 20th or 21st is fine with me for riding. Or any time after that.

This has been a dead post for a while so I figured I would get it going again. I live in north KC and am always up for an evening ride or weekend ride. Best way to get a hold of me is email. Before I post my email is that safe to do???

Thanks for replying fbj913. I have gotten a few replies from this thread and most of us are busy with family or other summer events for about another week or so. The group rides are definitely coming up in the near future. If someone wants to get in contact with you they can send you a private message the most secure way for messaging IMHO. Anyway we will ride soon. Thanks KLRED

Of course there is this little 1.5 day trip coming up.

I'm breaking in my new 2011 BMW F800 GS. WOOHOO! You all DID ride to work today, right?

It's cool to see a few fresh faces on the forum lately. We've got a relatively small community, but it's also relatively active. 4 years ago, I was putting together 1 or 2 day/weekend rides a month. Hmmm....what changed.....oh yeah! Rachel was born! So my riding has slowed a little bit with my life changes. You guys just need to put together some routes and post up. Folks will join you! (If you plan & post it, they will come...or something like that.)
To
plan some simple gravel day rides, use the resources here!

I've had route success by pinpointing all the
minimum maintenance sections then linking them in a general loop using the twistiest roads I can find. (Twisty is rare around here!)
Another idea is to build a route with the goal of finding a few
geocaches. Here are a few thousand to get you started!

Thanks for the tips Troy, I also have had a couple life changes, Derek is 14, and I also have a Rachel now going on 12. They like to eat (a lot). I landed a new job at the railroad and have been piecing my life back together as well as my finances. We all know what the construction industry has done to a lot of folks. There are many accessories I would like to purchase for the new KLR (currently 1100 + miles). So many gadgets for the KLR its hard to choose. Anyway my computer knowledge is limited so I will ask some friends to help me with the posts pics, etc. but will look into posting a few rides, possibly weekly. Your ride sounds great but right now I work weekends.
Thanks again for your help. We will ride soon. KLRED
