ST. PATRICK'S DAY Ride At Milford ORV

I plan on warming up my trail riding skills at Milford for St. Patty's day--Sat. March 17th. I will be hauling up from Wichita if anybody wants to tag along...have truck and ramps for two, trailer for more if necessary. The ride, as usual, will be in Mother Nature's hands. Just flip a coin now. Heads it's 65 and sunny, tails it's 25 and snowy. OOOh I hope it's heads!!

March weekends are filling up with riding plans fast for me! (And I like that. Gotta get all the riding in I can...wife is 7 months pregnant with our first!)

I want to join you at Milford. I'll have to see how it goes between now and then.

I worked at Milford State Park for a little over 2 years and haven't been back. I definitely want to go back this summer.

As far as St. Pat's, somehow I have three parties to choose from and my girlfriend is Irish. It's bigger than Christmas for her. :)

I'll check my schedule and get back with you. Itching to ride some trails too. Looks like gas prices are heading up again so anytime I can split the gas bill with someone I'm happy to do it.

I just remembered, we are headed out to Colorado for spring break and will probably be driving out there on that day.

 And I was getting excited about riding.

Ahh, sorry to hear you can't make it Slim. Give me a buzz if you want someone to ride along while planning your GPS route. I don't have a GPS yet,so it won't be like I'm spoiling the game or anything!

Weather permitting, I'd be up for it. I can get in touch with my dad and see if he wants to join, too. I grew up riding there, but it's been a while. He's been riding there for about 30 years.
It'd be a nice run for the EXC! I've been dying to get her out in some really good stuff!!

Ok, dad's in. We'll have a good guide.

Weather permitting, I'll be there. According to weather.com, as of now anyway, it's looking like mid-60's and overcast. Chance of rain is only 10%. It may rain a couple of days before, though. Looks like it may be the only factor, for now. A little rain would make the area perfect, though!

Troy, Daryl and I had a pretty good ride at Milford last Saturday, up until Troy's DR bounced off his right foot. I didn't get to see it happen but it must have been good!!

It looks like "Bumper" and I are hauling together for sure. I remember you telling me that your Dad has ridden up there a lot, but I don't remember if he still lives there or down here in the big city. Do you need a lift to School Creek as well? I want to figure out if I'll need my trailer or just the truck.

I think my wife may be going with me. This depends on whether my mom and sis will be there, too.
I'd hate to have you pull the trailer for one bike, though. I may be able to borrow a friend's truck and follow. Who knows, I may be able to find another to go with, too.
My dad lives in Herington, about 45 minutes from the ORV area. As far as I know now, he's going to be there.
I'll let you know by tomorrow night if I'm hitching a ride.
Is the foot ok?

Sounds good, I'm flexible dude!

Troy will be fine...I hope. I think the crutches are hurting more than the foot at this point.

Well, I'm trying to figure some things out now. I'm hoping to have a truck together for the trip. I may take the top off the 4Runner, or borrow a buddies truck. I'd like to ride up and back with you guys, but feel bad about making you take the trailer for me.
How late can I let you know?

Well guys, I think I'll make it up on my own. I have a trailer, and may go up Friday night, stay over at my parents, and go early on Saturday.
The weather is supposed to be wet the a.m., though, and only up to low 60's. Sunday is partly cloudy and low 70's.
Any chance to go up then? I'll go either day, but Sunday looks nicer.

I already have family obligations on Sunday, so it looks like I'm on for riding Saturday. I would prefer the cooler weather myself! I'll plan on leaving Wichita around 9:00, allowing the good 'ol sun to do it's thing in the morning and warm things up a bit. A full afternoon of riding will be plenty for me. I overexerted myself at work again this week(par for the course) and am nursing a few battle wounds. I will TRY to take it easy and attempt not to do anything too crazy. Like my brother Troy, my love of riding supercedes my common sense sometimes!!!

Troy: if you read this, sorry for the stab but you are an easy target right now :D

Why does it have to be like that?! I have feelings you know. 8)

You guys will have a blast. Unless it rains hard, School Creek ORV at Milford Lake will be fine. It's not the mud pit that Perry Lake is.

I'm healing up slower than I'd hoped. I'm still on crutches, but I'm "walking" on the foot probably putting 60% weight on it and 60% or so of the full stride motion. I'll be fine. Gonna miss riding with you guys this weekend.

Ride careful, but more important, ride SMART. Both my injuries were the result of "dumb" reflexes to situations.

OK, now I'm confused. I thought Troy was going.

Kyle, if you can fit two bikes in your truck, and it's only me and you going from here, then I'll just pile in with you.

Let me know.

Douglas "Bumper" Bump is riding up w/ me for sure. He PM'd me two weeks ago and I took for granted the fact that nothing was posted in here. I still have no problem hooking up to the trailer, in fact, I usually look for reasons to pull the trailer in order to justify the purchase. It is a brand new 10' flatbed trailer. It is pretty heavy duty with 16" wheels and best of all it is a tilt trailer. Just pull the pin and drive the ATV or Lawn mower right on it with no ramps! First $600 buys it!! I'm looking to buy a Toy Hauler camping trailer soon. I can store all my gear in it and just "hook up and go". Gonna get one that can accomodate 4 bikes and 4 people comfortably. SWEEEET!! CALL ME if you need a ride. I'm heading out soon to visit some friends and catch a flick.

I talked to my dad today, and I think I'm going to go up and spend some time there anyway. It'll give us some time to catch up riding with him to the lake. Thanks for the offer, though.
Do you guys know where you are going to be? I assume if you leave by 9 you'll be there about 11?
