Re: Bird Farm Trails

The Bird Farm trails are ready to ride. As usual there are a few changes all brought about by the flooding. I figured out how to add a new trail segment , it is very tight/narrow weaving through a heavy stand of young saplings. A couple riders are planning to come ride Saturday if the weather cooper...

Bird Farm Trails

Some of you may have noticed there were no Bird Farm trail rides this year. Well here is the reason. Due to the unusually wet year, the bird farm trails went completely under water not once but 4 times this spring and summer. They were too wet to maintain most of the time and the trail damage was ex...

Re: Appendectomy

I've done a couple day rides, and am back to helping with harvest. I have even worked several 10- 12 hour days but I am not quite 100 % yet. Pretty much driving trucks and tractors so not hard manual labor. It was all I could do to lift my bike up from its dirt/big rock nap yesterday. Still hoping t...

Re: Appendectomy

Youth is very fickle thing.
What I believe you missed in the article is the little known fact that if you are over 64 years old that "fact" doesn't apply any longer

New trails

A couple weeks ago I started a project I have been wanting to do for a few years now. A few miles south of the bird farm trails I have a pasture that has good single track trail potential. I had my skid steer there doing some other work so put the brush/small tree eating mower attachment on and forg...

Re: Kansas History

I am working on an idea for a spring ride. Renting a u haul to the southern end of the NMBDR, then riding it Co. To get home from Co. I am thinking of building a route across Southern Colorado or northern NM then making a route across Kansas following one of these old historic routes. Other ideas???...

Re: Kansas History

Thanks Eddie
I think one or more of those trails would be a good base to build a east/west trans Kansas backroads route on.
I enjoy Kansas history. Right now I am reading a book about early days in the flint hills with two more waiting to be read.

"Thanks for taking me dad, I had fun!" This Is the punch line and what it is all about..... quality time spent with family and friends. The memories will last a lot longer than the bikes. Thanks everyone for participating. Troy , I am confident time will heal the tracks in the field. Sorry I wasn't...
