SAE 2 prong polarity reverser ... charge your buddy's bike
Saw these on Amazon when looking for something else. I made my own years ago for adventure riding as it will allow one bike to (slowly) charge another bike (with an extension cable) so long as each bike is using the SAE 2-prong plug. https://www.amazon.com/Sunway-Solar-Connectors-Disconnect-Maintain...

Re: Dirt track in back yard
I've definitely got way more space than he does.
I really like the use of the garage.
If I can get my neighbors on board, even more.

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
Took Lindsay out for her first gravel ride (on her new-to-her 13 CRF250L) Oct 31 in Chase County. Trailered to Tallgrass Preserve outside Strong City. We did 95 miles of gravel, and then hiked up to see the bison at Tallgrass Prairie Preserve when we returned to our hauler. I think a new backroads r...

Ordering Honda OEM flange bolts that weren't standard on your bike
If you've worked on Japanese and European bikes you quickly realize they don't use the same standardization of bolt ~head~ sizing. (What you put the wrench on.) Euro wrench sizes tend to be 8 mm, 10, 12, 13, ... whereas Japanese is 8, 10, 12, 14, ... As I now have a Honda, I needed some 8mm diameter...

Re: Sat Oct 17: Bird Farm Trail Ride
Lindsay and I are headed down this morning. Same time-frame as Troy.
No Lars ... boy has a cast from his toes to just below his knee (all for a broken middle toe ...).
Looking forward to seeing y'all.

Re: 12th Manhattan fun ride August 29th (social distancing rules ;-) )
We're going to cancel as we have a sick dog ... I don't want to come home to that cleanup (like I did yesterday). :-( I was hoping she'd be better this morning, but that didn't happen. The mud factor did help a bit with the decision. Lindsay's first off-road ride evre (at your place) was a wetfest /...

Re: the purpose of trailer safety chains ... (pictures fixed)
Maybe add in some info about gap insurance, when you do that. I see too many potential customers, who had an auto loan and wrecked said auto, then walked away from the remaining gap. Ruining their credit. Obviously it would be best to not borrow for a car, but hey, thats what I do for a living so.....

Re: the purpose of trailer safety chains ... (pictures fixed)
Oh and that $hit will buff out. :-) I parked the 4Runner in my high school auto shop so students couldn't see the back until they walked around the car. I swore earlier classes to secrecy. At the start of my 4th block Advanced Auto class I asked one of my students to buff out the liftgate as I got ...

the purpose of trailer safety chains ... (pictures fixed)
Until Sunday I thought the purpose of trailer safety chains was to keep the trailer attached to the tow vehicle in order to keep the trailer safely behind the tow vehicle, thus protecting trailer contents as well as surrounding drivers and property. That changed Sunday. (87th and Nall for those fami...

Memory 2: diagnosing a 2-stroke ignition (no-spark) with a very old needle-type volt/ohm meter. No manual, just seat of the pants diagnosing. Now at least a cheap Harbor Freight digital meter is in my tool bag. Was it a borrowed meter we had down there? I still have the sweep meters you picked up f...

Re: Memories!
One of my memories: You, Kyle, and I were "camping" in his car hauler. Woke up in the morning, reached out of the sleeping bag, and turned on the electric coffee maker. Or would that make it "glamping"? Memory 2: diagnosing a 2-stroke ignition (no-spark) with a very old needle-type volt/ohm meter. N...

Re: 11th Manhattan Fun Ride, Sept 21st!
Luc, Kira: Thanks so much for hosting this event! The weather was cooperative, camaraderie great, trails excellent, etc. Looking forward to the next one, whether it be so cold (29oF) the little bikes wouldn't start (2017), cool and soaking wet (2018), or 80s and partly sunny. You've cut in some real...

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today
I drove from PA to KC yesterday. The MO, MS, & OH rivers, and their tributaries, are all as high as I have seen them since 1993(?). I have kayaked at Hillsdale Res. two weeks ago, which is 10-12' above normal pool and not releasing very much due to the flooding downstream. All boat ramps are closed,...
