Re: big bikes, yesterday

Waypoints- I'm terrible about adding those in. I plan a track, ride the track, cleanup the track reroutes ride it again figuring I will add in waypoints along the way and it never happens. When I'm out riding I just want to ride, I really need to start adding waypoints, it's not hard to do I just ha...

Andy - that's a great looking track, your pics show you guys hit a little bit of everything. Are those Mitas E-07s I see? What did you think of the performance of those tires?

Re: troy.adv on Instagram

Great pics, should be an interesting story to hear when you guys are done with this trip. CHK 666 ??? Must be a new Sonic, but what are the odds of pulling that number. Like to hear how that African Twin performs on this trip, I'm thinking about selling the 690 and going with either the new KTM 1090...

Re: April 22-23 FMHSC Round 4 Big Springs KS Pit/Bike Races Sat Night, Harescramble Sunday

I'm not competing, no category for a 1200. Actually since Forward Motion classes are based on rider speed percentile and age, your 1200 fits in all classes. :-D I rode the Saturday event last year, and raced it on Sunday. PK is correct the entire course isn't exactly tight single track, there are s...

Nice, did you do the paint yourself? What did you end up doing with the transmission? That front disc looks huge and the seat looks painful.

Re: GPS - Advice for the New guy?

I also have the Garmin Montana and Delorme (now Garmin) Inreach. As Troy said Basecamp is kind of a pain in the ass, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. Real easy to wifi tracks or routes from one Montana or other Garmin product to another. Unfortunately, where I live my internet speed is ...

Re: Roadside Assistance Plan with TIRE REPLACEMENT!

I read through all of the terms and conditions for the above plan and it looks to be a pretty good deal. I've been thinking about getting a roadside assistance plan but the AMA one seemed pretty weak and the last time I checked not many companies offered one for motorcycles.

Re: Brrrr... Now what?

Did a Polar Bear Club ride today from Warrensburg MO to RC's Fried Chicken in Martin City MO. When we got there the place was slammed with other Polar Bears (motorcyclists) due to the warm weather. Me and my friend Ken who rides a Goldwing signed the book then went down the street to Jess and Jim's ...

HAPPY NEW YEAR, all! :-D
I agree, hopefully more riding and less down time in 2017, I did a nice easy 60 mile ride yesterday just to start the New Year on a good note.

Re: Open Letter to the Backroads Touring Kansas Community

Got this e-mail this morning from the BTK site: Happy New Year, Fellow Riders …. Getting your machine(s) ready for a great ride season ahead? Myself, am using the 'dark/cold months' to prepare new maps of yet unseen points of interest throughout the state. Just a quick note …… The Backroads To...

Once again nothing from KTM concerning the 800 Adventure bike. I'll be in the market for another bike about a year from now, so far the Honda Africa Twin is currently the front runner.

Re: Sat Oct 22 | Carbondale | Off-Road

Carbondale has a mix of single track and atv wide tracks, some off camber tight corners and elevation changes on the chat piles. I don't know about riding a Ural - doesn't yours have a sidecar attached? As for the V-Strom it depends on how good of an off-roader you are and how much experience you ha...

Afraid I beat myself up pretty good testing out my new routes and minimal adv skills last weekend. Biggest issue was a pretty severe ankle sprain (didn't think that was possible with full Moto boots)still can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time so that option is out. Now that I know there...

Re: No scratch tire irons?

Let us know which ones you bought and how they work out for you. I have four tires to change for my 350 if the doc tells me this afternoon that I can start putting weight on my leg. Don't need protection for those they are silver rims. The 690 however has black rims and those motion pro bead breaker...
