I plan on driving my pickup, probably could stuff a second bike in the bed if need be, or on a trailer. Can I pitch a tent at links p...

Re: 3/29 & 30: Freeman Off-Road Resort Spring Adventure Ride
Finally, a chance to redeem myself!
Edit: Not for sure in yet, but I've been looking for a way to get out of KC that weekend anyway, so this is looking like a pretty good option. May stay through Sunday though. I'd probably truck it down too, just...in...case....

I guess I'll be the first to say it, I really enjoyed this event. The food was excellent and the conversation was great. Definitely planning to go again.

Re: Long Distance Trip Planning
Looks like everyone else pretty much covered the camping vs hotel thing. I would like to add that as far as camping gear goes, Campmor is also a good place to get gear. I found a couple of mil surplus full-length thermarests there a while back for like $40 each. Sure they're OD green, but...they're ...

Re: Top Box Mounting ?
Are the reinforced areas actually reinforced, or are they just indentions in the plastic? If they are truly reinforced I would be tempted to go all the way to those.

Re: It only took four months...
That's a pretty good theory. Part of the reason I got a KLR is so I would have something to work on... My pickup is so dreadfully reliable that I never would find my way into the garage.

It only took four months...
I finally ordered, and have almost installed 2 new spokes and a speedometer cable that I broke back in September. I feel like such a slacker.
Of course, now I'm looking into a 685 kit for my KLR...might get that ordered by next winter...

Troy, How about posting pics of your "Frankenstein" stitching of your 450 after Chadwick??? That was really classy! https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-XPO2Rd_48Kk/TvHTH13EwAI/AAAAAAAAADg/gffISHj1yVY/s400/PB123271.JPG Heat gun, vice-grips holding a phillips-head screw-driver, and zip-ties. KLR Body work...
...isn't the best. The mounts on the plastic things on my tank finally gave up the ghost during last weekends destruction derby, and I couldn't buy new ones because they wouldn't match the rest of my faded plastic, so it was off to the hardware store. I picked up some shelf hardware, and some pins, ...

Re: ICON Short Film featuring 2 Tiger 800XCs
Also ...riding down railroad tracks is a bad idea. note the tracks were no longer in use. I did not even see ties between the rails. These guys put the suspension to the limits on those jumps! Yeah I'm sure they made sure it was safe, I'd just hate to see someone think "hey thats not a bad idea...l...

Re: Sep 22, 2012: Mark Twain Dualsport
Important notes to remember: -don't cross the brown wire and the black/yellow wire or black/white wire on a KLR kill switch . -25 lbs of crap in your top box is too much. At least for me. -EBC oversized brake rotors are soft and flexible. This could be either bad or good, depending on your point of ...

Re: Sep 22, 2012: Mark Twain Dualsport
By the measure of "how sore am I the following monday?," my standard measure for weekend fun, this weekend easily topped every other weekend this year. I had entirely too much fun, and learned a lot. I wish I would have been able to continue the ride and not hold everyone else up, but hey...these th...
