Re: Sun March 4 2012: Leavenworth to White Cloud

Nice looking pictures, TroyBoy. Looks like you guys, and gal had a lot of fun. I'm thinking if I buy that DRZ I'm gonna park it at your house, you know all the good routes! For a parking fee, I will let you ride it from time to time. Which, from my end of the bargain, sounds like a heck of a deal. P...

I'm either a genius, or, just behind the curve

Last month I started a re-wiring project on my bike, '05 Wee. Although I am sure Troy and his brother, from whom I bought the bike, did an excellent job in running some pig tails and the like, I wanted to add an auxiliary fuse/distribution block to the bike. The process therein, of running wires, ch...

Re: 2011 Oct 29 & 30: long dualsport ride

Well, if it's coffee you want to fight off the morning chill, how about meeting at 11:30'ish, or earlier, or later, whatever, here: Uncommon Grounds‎ 909 Highway 62 65 N Harrison, Arkansas 72601 (870) 743-3218 It's across the street'ish from where I'll be staying (if I can leave a tad early on Frida...

Re: 2011 Oct 29 & 30: long dualsport ride

Seeing as how I am the one in for the partial Saturday 123 and 16/21 jaunt and some awesome BBQ in St. Paul, have you gathered a point in your head that, considering the time frame would be a good place to meet up. I proposed Harrison, its a short ride from the Tulsa area Harrison to Jasper/Mt. Jude...

Re: Recently Posted over at ADV

So, after finally finding the mythical 12mm hex socket at a run down tool wholesaler in Tulsa, I had a chance to take off the front wheel and check everything out. After taking off the front wheel, I checked all the bearings, they seemed fine, I then checked the speedometer housing/busing and found ...

Re: Recently Posted over at ADV

Does the sound remain when you pull in the clutch and allow the engine speed to drop while the bike speed remains? You mentioned on/off throttle. If it does, then you have removed exhaust and engine. Still could be transmission, chain, remainder of bike. If the speedo drive is mechanical, then a st...

Re: Recently Posted over at ADV

Just caught myself up on your problem...good to see you've put a few thousand miles on the 'ole WeeStrom!! I agree with some of the other posts. Focus on either the front wheel bearing or the speedo. I would start with the speedo since it is the easiest thing to check, once you remove the fastener ...

Re: Recently Posted over at ADV

I wasn't trying to step on any toes, just trying to keep every thing nice and on-topic'y ;) Everything must be clean. Clean. Thanks for the input Stu, and as long as work can fade into the background for a few hours, I should get a chance over the weekend to do a thorough search into the front wheel...

I'd go into the long story here, but, just as easy to read the whole thing over at ADV. I've had several good suggestions, but, always looking for more feedback, because, as of right now, I'm a stone's throw away from taking it somewhere to get it fixed. I'm just running out of things to check, that...

Re: Sat 7/9: KC to Manhattan

The title has a dual meaning. 1. My brother, KC , is moving from Wichita to Manhattan. (actually Kechi to Westmoreland) Holy, I can't believe I missed out on an opportunity to help another family member move. Prior to Saturday's moving of brother KC, I was batting 1.000! Do you have any idea how no...

I figured there was no way getlost.com was available, and I was right. Lack of a website does not mean the domain is available. :) http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=getlost.com&prog_id=GoDaddy Thanks for the thanks and kind words! I think reddof is still feeling bad about "ruining" our ride....

Re: June 24 & 25: Dualsport Glade Top Trail, Ava, MO

Yes, Troy does pretty good at this sort of thing. Always has a nice route, interesting mix of roads, and not a bad guy to hang out with for a couple of days. I think he could earn some side money leading riders on little adventures. Thanks again. You know, http://www.getlost.com has a nice ring to i...

Statistically 0.2% of the population like DUBSTEP. Sometimes, quite strangely, I fall into that category. But, then again, I like most music anyway - for me, it's more of a mood thing than a genre thing. So -- does that mean you weren't listening to this while on the trail for motivation: Motivation...

Re: June 24 & 25: Dualsport Glade Top Trail, Ava, MO

We can always go back to Glade Top again right? Or even someplace else with some good riding like there. To tell you the truth, I'm kinda ready to try camping off the bike sometime soon. I just need a smaller tent, and I think I'm set if somebody else has cooking gear. I guess a cafe to eat at woul...

Re: June 24 & 25: Dualsport Glade Top Trail, Ava, MO

This is looking so tempting! If there isn't anything I'm supposed to be doing for the wife, i want to go. How much is a room at the comfort inn? May be on a budget  One adult at the Comfort Inn in Bolivar is running 79.99 a night. Figure half that if you can find someone to share the room. Th...

I'm more than up for a ride. Besides I want to check out your new bike! Today is the day, yes? While I'll probab...
