Colorado Ride Report
My son and I just got back from our annual week long trip riding in the Colorado mountains. Usually, we stay in the Taylor Lake area but this year stayed in Sergants which is about 1 1/2 hour from Taylor. Lots of single track to ourselves as we would normally go the whole day without seeing another ...

Re: Riding In Colorado
In two weeks we head out for our 7th year in a row and have only been stopped once to check our $25 sticker. The $25 fee is a bargain as I believe that it is good for a year. Heck, it costs $10 per day just to ride the places around here...Merwin, Collins etc. We were told by the rangers that if you...

Re: June 30 - Ride Somewhere
I'm going to ride somewhere Saturday, nothing epic. Probably close to Weston, small bike, early as I can get around to stay out of the heat. Anyone else not riding the Flint Hills Stampede that wants to go? I'm out of town until late Saturday night otherwise I would join you. With the heat surely t...

Re: June 15-17
Don't forget the story of getting kicked out of, Big Louie", for too much studying of, "engineering books", while in the establishment! Within an hour I went from a fairly warm 95 degrees to being totally soaked in Sedalia's 3 inches of rain. The temperature dropped into the lower 60's and I was so ...

Re: June 15-17
I would probably ride to work Friday morning and could leave straight from there.....my work is in Lees Summit so right on the way to Sedalia. Our father's day may be church and then brunch...any problem if I came back Saturday evening?

Re: June 15-17
When you say 4:00, is that on Sunday Father's Day or Saturday? What is the GS Giant....does it have something to do with the BMW Rally in Sedalia?

Re: GPS Help
I'm going to take a stab at this. What you describe sounds to me like you loaded an auto-routing route (neither a track nor a "point for every turn" route) onto a device without a map set that supports auto-routing. When Eddie asked "What maps did you get", he did not mean what dualsportmaps.com "m...

Re: GPS Help
The first one I tried was the Maple Hill (wabaunsee) route. When that didn't work I thought maybe something was wrong with it so I loaded the Linn Valley route. They both just show the start and end only.

GPS Help
Motivated by Troy's GPS presentation at the May TAR meeting, I decided to purchase and learn how to use my first GPS, a Montana 600. I've downloaded a route from dual sport maps into basecamp and the route appears to be okay on the basecamp map. When I send the route from basecamp to my device, only...

Re: June 9-11: Where to ride?
I'm hauling my KTM 450 as it is licensed and I would prefer not to ride all the way there. I see you've got a 300 xcw....where do you ride it? Allkid which bike are you bringing? The BMW or a KTM? If I came I guess I would drive my 990 out since my 300 isn't plated and doesn't have much range. Jim

Re: June 9-11: Where to ride?
I'm in for sure if we start early enough for me to be home around 6:00....guess I could always break off early. My thoughts are to throw my bike in the truck rather than riding there.

Re: June 9-11: Where to ride?
Looks like last night I spoke too soon about being available all weekend for Chadwick....turns out that I have an obligation for Saturday evening. Having said this, if a group is still going down I would at least go down to ride on Friday. Looking ahead at my calendar I would be available to go down...
