Re: Brock Creeck Arkansas
My son and I got back late Sunday evening as I survived 3 days of riding ST at Brock Creek with a bunch of very fast, Hare Scramble racers....and I had a lot of fun. The park is broken up in half with ATV trails on one side and legal, single track on the other side. It is the only public riding plac...

Re: Brock Creeck Arkansas
My son and I are finally heading down to Brock Creek as we are leaving early tomorrow morning. We will be riding with a couple friends from Jonesboro who ride at Brock frequently. They've promised to show us all the trails and put a lot of miles on. I'm not so concerned about the miles as, "all the ...

Re: I could not help myself. I'm a weak man.
We'll see how this plays out, but if I like the 350 like I think I will, my 2007 450 EXC will be for sale in late spring / early summer. (This is a factory street-legal machine, btw, and runs awesome.) Early bids accepted. Until then, I want to give this new bike some time. Plus I have a need for b...

Re: 4th Annual Winter Bald Eagle Ride, January 18-21, 2013
In preparation for this ride, I rode to work yesyerday in the extreme cold...15 minutes in 13 degrees. I know it was a short ride but I wanted to see if I could manage even 15 minutes in the cold. Several observations; 1.) much colder standing rather than sitting...my core body wasn't really cold at...

Re: Husqvarna TR650
I am new here so. First: I,m in my mid 50's and have been riding on and off for 45 years. ( I think I was 11 when I got a mini bike) I was a Flat Tracker and MXer in the 70's then went street bike-- dirt bike-- street bike and finally Street bike and a Dual-sport ( DRZ). I was at the dealer and saw...

Re: Brock Creeck Arkansas
Randy (Allkid) I know you were wanting to check out Brock Creek sometime so I uploaded a video of the Copperhead trail. This is the hardest trail there but it will give you an idea of what the place is like. Of all of the places I have been in Mo\Ar Brock has the best single track. Definitely fun a...

January 15, 2013 meeting
When: January 15, 2013 at 7:00 PM Where: Applebees, 11000 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS (just south of 435 on the west side of Metcalf) What: discuss a TAR spring ride I'm thinking that by the middle of January it would be good Winter therapy to talk about a Spring TAR ride. I would be open to about an...
Re: Welcome!
Have any plans been made for TARKC for 2013? I know everyone is most likely busy with the upcoming holidays, but January will be here before we know it! I haven't planned anything yet but was thinking January 15. Normally, we meet the first Tuesday but that is the 1st and there is a good chance tha...

Re: GS tire?
Thanks for everybody's input. I went the cheap route and bought the Shinko 705's...$135 for a set from Rocky Mountain. For that price figured I can't go wrong.

Re: GS tire?
If I lived closer to the good riding in Arkansas I would move towards a more aggressive tire. While I think that I will ride more offroad with my GS, in the 6,000 miles so far I've only been offroad (not including gravel as offroad) one time. Therefore, I'm thinking of a more versatile tire like the...

GS tire?
I've pretty much worn out the stock tires on my 800GS so I guess it is time to make my first GS tire purchase. Everybody seems to have strong opinions regarding the best tire. I'm looking at 50/50 tires and leaning to the heidenau K60...very expensive but seem to last the longest and get very good r...

Re: Tire Balls
I was thinking the tire balls would be good for colorado where we may be 70 miles from camp with nobody else anywhere around and in area that is not accessible by truck. But, at $200 each tire, times 4 tires for my bike and my son's...I can buy gold plated tire irons for the $800! I'm also convinced...

Tire Balls
I was intrigued by Scott's discussion of tire balls last night as I've never heard about them before...how great would that be to have equal performance but not have to worry about flats! Has anybody ever use tire balls? If you are interested, listed below is a link that answers most all questions a...

Re: Great weather this weekend
The forecast for this weekend (Dec 1 & 2) looks great for riding! Lows around 50 and highs in the 60's. Some sunshine and low chance for rain. I know I'll lean towards trails rather than roads. Hmmm....options... Wonder if my brother would go riding with me at School Creek this Sat or Sun? First we...

Re: Eagle Ranch, Collins, MO
RE: http://www.eagle-ranch.com/ OK, so I've heard about this place for a couple years. It's primarily a horse trail riding outfit, but they open the trails to motorized use during winter. According to our own Rusty Jug (Todd), this coming weekend (Dec 1) is the start of the winter session. The ranc...

Larry, Thanks to you and your wife for opening your farm for us to enjoy a day of riding. You've done a great job developing the trails!
Jim, Rusty Jug (Todd), Good to meet and ride with you guys.
Troy, Thanks for the peanut butter cookie!

Re: Sat Nov 24, 2012 Gravel Roads
How about riding trails in the morning when it is colder and then combine lunch with an afternoon road ride?
