Re: LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2-DAY!

I really wish I was going on this ride, but do to family obligations and orthopedic issues I will not be going. Links is one of the best if not the best off road experiences I have ever had period. Link is a wonderful guy and don’t get his exterior fool you… Troy described well the type of terrain y...

Re: Meeting horses on the trail

Troy you forgot to mention what to do if you run into a cattle drive and a upset rancher  I still say it was a public road and I had just as much right to the road as his cattle did. But he had a gun, so yes I will get the "F" off of your road.

Re: Sat June 15: Off-Road

Wish I could go, but.... family commitments come first. I did add a new to me/my kids bike to the garage, 2002 TTR 125. Got a great deal on it! It only needs a carb cleaning and new tires. Should be great for them to learn on. My son is really to big for it already, so if he likes riding I will be l...

Re: I need some design work

I work with the wife of one of the owners of the Young Sign Company in Leavenworth. Here is a link to their website http://www.youngsigncompany.com/ They should be able to do this for you with no problems. They are just a good small family owned business and I give them my highest recommendation. Da...

Re: 1st Annual RideForum Enduro Skills Challenge!

KC, I would love to come out and win the skills challenge, but... next weekend is mother's day weekend. To make it even more impossible for me to come out, my wife's birthday is the 11th and my mother's is the 12th. Take pictures for me and maybe next year???

The river road would be a muddy mess in some sections given the amount of rain we have had. Good luck and wish I could join you, but.......

New Place for Tires and Service

I don't think I have ever posted posted a recommendation for a vendor, but I feel like I have to let everyone know about a store I just found. It is called C R Cycle Tires in De Soto, KS, it is located just off on K-10 at the De Soto exit. It is owned by Ron Rogers who is an old dirt bike rider that...

Re: Water Softeners/Conditioners

Daryl, here are the possible reasons I assume for why you don't want it: Already had one when you moved in, and yours was better/newer. Don't like slippery, soft water--hard to get soap off your skin feeling Believe softened water is unhealthy (lack of good minerals, added sodium, etc.) So what's u...

Re: Water Softeners/Conditioners

I have one of those salt water softeners (a large one) that I will give you. All you have to do is come over and pick it up. I have no idea if it works or not, it hasn't been touched since I bought the house 18 months ago.

Re: Liability insurance

I have deleted my last post after reading it again. I have had a recent loss of a family member and a little anger came out in my post towards Troy, which wasn't right. Troy I'm sorry for my comments and I hope you accept my apology.

Re: Singletrack in Lone Jack

Such personnel questions… I will be 51 this month and my family has lived in Oak Grove since it was known as Lick Skillet. My name is Daryl Perry, and the family business was the Wayne Perry insurance agency. I would love to come out some time and ride.

Re: Singletrack in Lone Jack

I grew up in Oak Grove and learned to ride on very similar terrain. I can catch a ride with Safiri if you open up your trails to outsiders... :D

I hate sand and avoid it at all costs. Troy and KC remember my crash at the sand dunes in Colorado :)

Re: I could not help myself. I'm a weak man.

Okay it looks much better and what we have here is trials bike enduro style. Could be a real winner for racers and trail riders too. I hope they start to import them soon to the USA. The only draw back I see is the small gas tank, but I'm being picky.

Re: newbie

There is no perfect dual sport bike, please see my comments in this thread: http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1801 Go buy a used KLR or DRZ to determine if you like trail riding. If you do buy a used KTM 350/450 4 stroke or a KTM 250/300 2 stroke and keep the KLR or DRZ for the roads/grav...

Re: Brock Creeck Arkansas

I'm with Troy on this one; trails like this are not fun to me. Have I done trails like this sure, but being physically and mentally exhausted by the end of the trail is no longer something that I crave. I tip my cap to those who do.

Re: Husqvarna TR650

Okay, here’s the deal. There is no perfect dual sport motorcycle that will cover the range of riding we expect it to do (freeways to single track) period end of story! The new Husky looks like an updated KLR with better suspension and brakes. You can take the Husky or a KLR on a single track or roug...

Re: Great weather this weekend

Well I'm up for a ride, but I can't do Saturday. My son has a wrestling tournament all day on Saturday. I could go on Sunday, my chruch has an online service I can watch at a later time. I have been out with a hip injury for almost a year now and it is resolving, a little bit, so I went out to the g...
