Re: I got in! Shane Watts Dirtwise school

Shane is the man! I'm such a better rider now and with practice who knows. The skills he showed us not only can help the trail rider, but also the racer. In our class there were A riders all the way down to the 4 of us, but Shane made us feel welcome. I would encourage anyone who wants to be a bette...

Re: HUSKY Defectors take note!!!

Yes it is true. I sold my Husqvarna and bought a pumkin. I'm partial to orange and black because they were the colors of my high school, GO Panthers! On last weekend's ride I had problems with my Husky and had to be towed back to camp. MoRidin offered his 450 EXC for me to ride while he rode his 200...

Re: Moab Ride Slideshow

My money is on a 450, because he stated he wanted a street legal bike with no hassels from the man. Not being a KTM expert but I believe KTM started making street legal 450s and 525s in 2007.

Rib injuries are the worst. Sneezes turn into five minute groans.... Mainly why I upgraded my armor to http://www.mx1west.com/acerbiskoertaroostdeflector-pressuresuit.aspx Hey Jim! LONG TIME! Re: KTM RFS maintenance videos

From a non KTM owner I thought they were informative and they sure made it look easy! The Husky uses a "basket and shim" system for the valves and I think I like this option better because there are no shims to buy.

For jetting I recommend the JD Jetting Kit. It will tell you exactly what you need to do for the elevation you are at. It is worth the $80.00 bucks, IMHO.

Re: New suspension work is done

I have used Shock Sox for a short time with good results. I like that they have velcro which makes it easy to remove (don't have to take the tire off) and clean. Moriddin recommended them to me and he was impressed by them.

Re: The ORV vs Environment debate

We all can learn a lot from a Boy Scout. The Boy Scouts have an Outdoor Code: "As an American, I will do my best to be clean in my outdoor manners, be careful with fire, be considerate in the outdoors, and be conservation minded." Boy Scouts also practice low impact camping and try to leave no trace...

Re: New standard for DS bikes?

Okay, I really have nothing but good things to say about KTMs. Like Troy said there is a HUGE after market support for KTMs and a local dealership. BUT... Husqvarna does have after market support (not as big as KTM) and a great following of fellow riders. Granted there is no dealer in Missouri or Ka...

Re: Moving to Minnesota!

Mike, I'm happy and sad all at the same time. I heard MN is the land of 10,000 lakes, 2 fish and they both are male, and the state bird is a mosquito. All kidding aside MN is a good state for someone like you who enjoyes the outdoors. Like Troy said I hope you can make some rides with us before you ...

Re: Looking for a DOT knobby

I'm of the same mind as Troy and I look for the wear abilities of the tire and not so much the performance. With my limited riding skills I doubt that I will out ride any tire that I have. But if the Millville makes Hayden ride like he does, I guess I might try them when the 606 wears out. I know so...

Re: Looking for a DOT knobby

I really like the 606s and they a strong side wall so if you do flat you won't destroy the tire. They hold up well too. I can get almost an entire season out of one rear, but it depends on the amount of riding I do of course. Just a word to the wise here. If you have a shop mount your tire you MUST ...

Re: KTM question

The latter new bikes can be made "street legal" with a kit from Sicass Racing. Stu I ordered a replacement switch for my Husky, it hasn't worked right since I got it stuck in that mud hole in Arkansas a couple of years ago... Well Steve from Sicass called me and the short story is what I ordered wo...
