Re: To SIT or to STAND that is the ? But is standing LEGAL?!

Did I get anything from this class so far???? The only thing I got is how to turn, to go to the right "push right, lean right"; to go to the left "push left, lean left". There were many things that were the same, CLUTCH CONTROL and CLUTCH CONTROL were the two top items. Now the Watt's class took clu...

Re: To SIT or to STAND that is the ? But is standing LEGAL?!

I’m actually heading out the door for the 1st class of my basic motorcycle safety course in a few minutes. Daryl, you headed to Maple Woods for this class? My wife is taking the class this weekend. I told her to keep an eye out for you. Yes your better half is in my class and I mean better half! Wh...

Okay, I have admit I don't have an "M" on my license. There, I got that off my chest. I’m actually heading out the door for the 1st class of my basic motorcycle safety course in a few minutes. I will get the opinion of the instructor on standing and report back to the group. Shane Watts says that yo...

Re: Stripped drain plug

My suspicions came true. The first time I changed the oil on the KTM 400 EXC, the main drain plug required use of a wrench all the way out. Now on the 3rd oil change, it pretty evident the threads were stripping out on the case. As anyone with the bike can attest to.... the plug placement is not op...

Tuning Your Suspension-Where To Start?

As many of you know I have a new to me bike, 2005 KTM 450 EXC, that I purchased from MoRidin. I had to put new springs in both the forks and shock because I weigh a few more pounds that MoRidin :) I had the springs installed by a local shop that has experience with suspension set-up. I did a couple ...

Short Notice, Ride at Perry

Just got back from the "family vacation" and my neighbor just bought a Yamaha TTR 225. He rides a road bike and back in the day he rode dirt bikes so he is wanting to get back into the dirt/trail riding. He asked nicely and the wife said go! We are leaving at 0700 and should be at Perry around 0800....

Re: New program encourages rural landowners to rent property

I was thinking that we would fall into the other outdoor recreational activities category... "We believe that encouraging outdoor recreation will play a very critical role in that effort to revitalize the rural economy — hunting, fishing, hiking and other outdoor recreational activities in landscape...

New program encourages rural landowners to rent property

"The Agriculture Department launched a program Thursday aimed at stimulating rural economies by encouraging landowners to provide public access to their properties for recreational use in exchange for money." Sounds encouraging, I hope they consider ORV use... Here's a link to the full story: http:/...

Re: KTM vs Husky

What they said! I kept having overheating problems with my TE510 because it is a race bike and I'm not a racer. Plus it was just time for a new bike. From performance stand point it had all the power you wanted and would pull all the way to the rev limiter. The close ratio transmission was great for...

Slim, Wow is all I can say. You run marathons and the enduro did this to you??? Well I'm staying clear of them  I guess it just a different type of fitness and maybe a smaller bike is the answer. There were a lot of 250-300 2 strokes at the dirt wise school and all of them were enduro/hare sc...
