Re: Deleted 97 user accounts

Dont Delete me!! Im not dead yet. I check in from time to time. 2 full time jobs leaves little time for anything. Still got Stu's old 450 that went through a ground up rebuild last winter. Cost me about 4k and I didnt touch the motor. Test run was a Moab trip last march. She still thrills me to deat...

Re: SPOT Messenger

Do keep in mind guys that a SPOT is not just for riding. I wear mine around the ranch I work on all the time. I had a close call this year while cutting up a Cotton Wood tree that fell during a storm back in may. It was 7' across at the base. I was cutting a branch that was about 4' across when it s...

Re: Inuvik/Prudoe bay

Oh yea!!!!! And when you get done with the Depster, wash your bike as soon as possible. That shale is very acidic and its rusts things very quickly. You dont want that crap on your bike any longer than you have to. I think I remember a wash station at the rest stop at the beginning of the Dempster. ...

Re: Inuvik/Prudoe bay

Thanks for the email Mike. Holy Cow, Its been a while since Ive logged in here. Hey all!! Inuvik is a very interesting ride and some say much prettier that Prudo. It can be some of the best and worst riding for ya in the same day. Just depends on conditions. Expect rain for sure and even snow as you...

Disturbing ICON AD?

Opened up the latest Motorcyclist Mag today in Dillons. As most, I thumb from the back to the front. Well there on the FIRST page of the mag was an ICON ad. It has a chick with a rather large PISTOL drawn. I about fell over. REALLY????? A motorcycle gear ad with a chick ready to Kick Some Brass. DON...

Re: Anyone in the Wichita area?

Its very wet here Harvey. We got almost 4" of rain where Im at, ( Goddard). But that being said, it was so dry the ground soaked up a lot. I have 3 water shead ponds and it still didnt fill them up enough to drain water through the overflow tubes. Im guessing Jeeps area got the same amount of rain. ...

Re: historic Ferrari's on the road, selling Shell gasoline

Nothing sounds cooler that a V12.

I personally avoid Shell. I yet to find one that doesnt have 10% ethenol in it. I was having problems with the local station in Goddard. After a couple weeks in the tank, it would run like crap. Water????

Re: I'm either a genius, or, just behind the curve

Hey, thats not bad. Usually the nut is square so it doesnt need a wrench. I have cut a piece of plastic tubing and placed under the nut. This holds it in place and up against the top so you can get the bolt started. I have also stuffed a piece of foam in there too. The kind that is door seal with th...

Re: Jan 13-16, 2012: Winter Bald Eagle Ride

Headed out this last Thur for a 60 mile jaunt after work. One Baldy graced me with his presents. He made a loop around a wheat field right next to the road. At one time he was right above me about 40 ft high. So beautiful. I watched till he was out of site, said thankyou to whom every and road on. I...

Re: Noob in SE KS and question on plating out of state bikes

I had my 2nd KLX tagged this year here in ICT. During inspection she pulled back the cables and was looking at the sticker on the head tube. The cables had worn some of it off and I asked what she was looking for. She was looking for one word. CONFORMS. She said if that word is not on the head stick...

Yep, thats what I love so much about my HTC EVO phone. Snap pics of car plates, tire tracks, shoe prints in the dirt, video, internet, GPS, Goggle Maps. I told a kid spotlight'n one night when I walked up to talk to him that I had already taken a pic of his tag. So if wanted to drive off, go for it ...

Re: Riding Dry Creek Beds.

I have lots of problems too ajay. I live on a 1260 acre ranch that I have worked on for the last 4 years. Last year a week after the last gun season I had 2 guys poach a hugh buck in my back yard. I watched them do it about a half hr after sundown. I yelled, screamed and jumped in the truck to give ...

Re: KTM 690 Enduro

Have you read the wunderfest thread on ADV? That will steer you away from a 690 real quick. God the fuel injection problems those guys have. Its just crazy. I have vowed to never own an injected KTM. I think I would go with a 525. Carb and cables all around wont leave you setting.

Re: Honda Crosstourer

Yea I just dont get it. They cant come up with something simular looking to the 990 Adv. They have the greatest twin motor they could put in it ( out of the RC 51). It doesnt take 2 brain cells to know it would sell fairly well. Hell any big dually that looks like it could do the Dakar Rally would s...

Re: Honda Crosstourer

Hugh thread on ADV about this too. Not sure It will come to the USA yet. I may be wrong though.

A 800 version would be nice with waymore off road capabilities than this thing. I sure hope Honda steps up and gives us a cool gravel runner.
