Plastic Removal and Coolant Change 1

I decided to pull off all the plastic to get a look at things. Time for a coolant change. All hoses are coming off and everything gets washed and flushed with water. http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m122/carlrf1/Husqvarna%20TE250/IMG-20151213-01618_zpsstdtwxna.jpg I don't care for the look of the ...

Headlight Wiring Cleanup

I suspected some Tom Foolery behind the headlight since it and the signals had been changed. Although not too bad, I am glad I checked as all the male to female electrical connectors were very loose and the female needed a squeeze :o with some needle nose pliers and the males reinserted. Also I wasn...

Corroded Handle Bar Hold-Down Bolts

Next up, I wanted to experiment with handlebar position pulling them back to me a bit. I go to loosen the first hex head cap screw on the clamp and found it insanely tight, to the point I thought I was going to break something or round out the hex on the bolt. After finally getting one broke...

Front Brake Light Switch Repair

OK. The brake light was staying on, The reason it would not work when operating the switch with my hand was the engine wasn't running, should have known better but getting forgetful. You can see the little "nubbins" on the switch are broke off. One of them is supposed to go in the hole on the bracke...

Re: 2010 TE250 Husqvarna in the Garage!

I had a 2005 TE 510 and it was the most powerful bike I ever had. Troy described the difference between a KTM and a Husky using a car analogy, a KTM is a BMW and a Husky is a Ferrari. I was happy with the Husky, but there was no dealer in the KC area. It appears Donnell's in Independence is a deale...

Brake Pedal Adjustment

The first thing I did when I came home from the inspection station was to lower the brake pedal by rotating the cam and shortening the push rod. Put some blue lock-tight on the cam bolt, would hate to loose that on the road or trail. This included lubing the pivot points, spring and push rod in the c...

Re: 2010 TE250 Husqvarna in the Garage!

Thanks for input!

BTW, Sometimes I hate forums!
Reason: I looked up "Café Husky" and there is talk of timing gear bearings disintegrating!

Too much information :?

2010 TE250 Husqvarna in the Garage!

Pulled the trigger on a street legal Husqvarna that popped up on CL today. Just rode it around the block but seems like it rips for a 250! :D 1200 miles Came with larger tank. Spare rear wheel with Street gearing on it. Aftermarket exhaust and original. Fender eliminator kit. Power Commander and mod...

Re: Opinions Please on 2009 WR250R

I bought an 09 Wr250R, and then sold my DRZ400. I really like the 6sp transmission and the fuel injection. ...........................................group. You're welcome to come see /ride mine, if you want to. I don't have any trails, but some hay fields are very close. Thanks for the input and i...

Re: Opinions Please on 2009 WR250R

Thanks, thanks and thanks!

On my research I don't see very much difference between the wr and the KLX, 5 to 10lbs maybe?
What am I missing?
It needs to be street legal.

Opinions Please on 2009 WR250R

I need a smaller dual sport and based on my current research the Yamaha WR250R is the best performer next to the Husqvarna 310, but also next to the most expensive. I rode one in Manhattan a couple weeks ago but it was rougher shape than I cared to buy for the price. I know the 250 is lacking on the...

Re: 2007 450 KTM EXC Rejuvenation August 2015

The deal Carl made me (that I did not take) was pretty sweet. If I could figure out how to do that every time my bike needs work but without the ownership change and thus registration fees, property tax, and hassle, I'd just "sell" my bike to Carl all the time! The job he did cleaning up my old 450...

Re: 2007 450 KTM EXC Rejuvenation August 2015

So the bike you just recently bought from Troy and fixed up you sold back to Troy after just a few rides? Did I get that right? You should of gave it more time. You would of eventually gotten used to it. Good work BTW No I offered it to him because I felt guilty for buying it then changing my mind....

Re: 2007 450 KTM EXC Rejuvenation August 2015

What's new? Order the Rekluse? No. I am embarrassed to say, after offering it to Troy for what I had in it I let it go. Time to regroup. :? Sold the DR650 too. Sold the road bike (bicycle) and much of riding gear and bicycle specific tools. Mountain bike is going for sale shortly. Miata price is dr...
