Romping stomping muddy good time....glad to have met more of you crazy folks. Chris, Thanks for such a great route. Photos will be posted to Smugmug tonight. Did you guys follow us on down the muddy hill? I was at the top and felt the back end break loose, it looked dry. The further I went the wors...

Change in plans, tonight june 21st, 6:30-6:45 Smokestack BBQ, south of 152 on Church Street. I think that is Liberty or close. I'm going in the truck again, after a day spent in coveralls and a lousy hardhat the last thing I'm going to do is gear up for a bike ride. Dean map link to smokestac...

Troy, If a guy figures out to load the whole route in marengo, how do you save it and make a link to it. Flashstrommer doesn't have a gps, so if he can see the whole thing he can trace it in highlighter on his topo maps. I don't know if I'll ride or not, new kilimanjaro air on the way but I don't kn...

This one should be handy for you Troy, around 6:30pm +-. Advrider Buzzez is in town training at Engles for a new BMW dealership in St. Louis. Pretty cool guy, and a wealth of info on arkansas and south missouri. I think most of us are members on adv too, but all are welcome. Been to two of these and...

I brought home a 3/16, a 7/32 and a 1/4. You need 'em? Ian No, sorry for the false alarm, we got it, and chased them all with a tap. I meant to go by Clark's and get a bottoming tap but the starter seemed to do well enough. I think my Lisle tap sockets are the best money I ever spent. I borrowed a ...

We got three of the four out, vise grips locked down as tight as humanly possible. The last one turned a little bit and broke off. We had Troy shopping for a name brand M8 X 1.25 tap since the ones Mike brought removed too much material from inside an 8mm nut. We tried locking two nuts together, but...

I'd start with some vise grips locked down as tight as you can, a small ball pein hammer, tink tink, and kroil. I'm fresh out of kroil but I do have some marvel mystery super lubricant. I guess the lower clamp is made right into the top triple tree? If you remove the tank maybe you can use some prop...

PS. I believe you can download topos from a friend without a registration code. I was wanting to ask you where you got the film you put on your screen to prevent scratches on your 60csx? Does it have anti reflective properties also? Congrats on the new garmin TheHarm, I got my topo maps from...

I have to wear some type of hearing protection with my job, even though most of my area is right at the threshhold of 85db or less. I really don't mind wearing it, the soft foam plugs are really pretty comfortable. They encourage us to take a few home and I always put some in weedwhacking or mowing....

Good grief, that sounds good! This is the one that got me all worked up a while back, yours is better with more engine music, less soundtrack.

Dean, looks like you got that GPS stuff figured out! Good job! I'm not exactly proficient but learned enough to be able to do what I want, Thanks to you and Mike. The nice thing about rideforum is you can ask questions and get an answer in layman's terms. :D Will you be able to ride soon? I kind of...

Also see threadjacking under "new guy, old question" for comments on Sundays ride. I had plenty of fun too! Thanks for taking the lead Dean. I'm glad you guys had fun, I had heard stories about Overlander, stuff like passing guys doing a wheelie while hauling a passenger. I had a blast, I f...

Troy, just wanted to say Thanks for putting the Plattsburg route together. I think I had a dozen guys following me after the Holt deal. I was a little nervous leading and made a couple mistakes but recovered. Nobody complained about being bored. :) Thanks to you and Mike for answering my gps questio...

I'm going to Holt for the lunch deal, then ride Troy's Plattsburg route, should be around ninety miles of gravel. If anyone wants to join me I'll probably leave Holt around 1pm. Dean I would like to ride that route as I missed it the first time around. How can we meet up? I can't be on my bike in L...
