Re: Christmas toys are on there way....
So far all I've gotten for myself is some new grips. I may get some grip heaters and I want some handguards, and thinking about some ebay saddlebag racks.
Some guys I rode with at the Arkansas Fall Colors tour are doing their annual New Year's ride at Brock Creek in Arkansas.

Re: 11/4 River Road, Leavenworth to Atchison
Nice pics Bad Company, I thought real hard about joining you all, laziness won out. I drove up yesterday and had catfish with some ADV guys at Rulo, Nebraska. They didn't razz me too bad about driving up in the truck. I was gone last weekend for the arkansas fall colors tour but you guys got to see ...

Re: Ozark Fall Colors Tour Next Weekend Last Minute Invite
A friend of mine from Iowa drove 14 hours round trip for 3.5 hours of riding! Doh! He got down there, started a ride, and soon after ended up with oil squirting out from his engine on every revolution of the piston on his DR650. Apparently it's a gasket that is relatively common to start leaking on...

Re: Ozark Fall Colors Tour Next Weekend Last Minute Invite
Yeah, Gordon and I are leaving on Friday morning to ride down there. We'll be riding pavement 95% of the time. We're camping at Spadra too. Dean when you showing up? You want to save a spot for Gordo and I, or the other way around if we get there before you? Supposedly you can't reserve spots in AR...

Re: Ozark Fall Colors Tour Next Weekend Last Minute Invite
Hey Carl, I was planning on going and probably camping at the Spadra park. I was planning on just riding the adventure loops. I'm pretty sure Gordon and Ian are going on their stroms and I think Lee/Overlander will be there too. I haven't sent any $$'s for the banquet, I just want to ride. My truck ...

If this may go "poof", then I won't quote you for posterity. We got a crazy storm up this way this afternoon, the power was out for an hour and a half. Some ADVers were having BBQ in Mission tonight though I didn't attend.
Good luck with the purging and what not, Dean

[ Had to look it up. :| http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-63322748.html The curious appellation Yellow Cat is derived from a mountain lion or cougar that was killed near an old campsite alongside one of the rare springs. The site became known as the Yellow Cat Campsite (Cannon 1964); later the na...

Re: Moab, Sept 8th
"One of the routes we did was the sand road within Arches NP on the west side (see Tuesday in my report). You may want to avoid that as we were told by a local DSer that he wouldn't go up there once summer hit as the sand was so dry (and fluffy) as to be nearly impossible to get through. Also, all b...

Give me a call whenever Kevin, I'm off work this week on vacation. I'm supposed to be riding in Colorado with my buddy Larry. He lost his rear brake coming down Corkscrew Gulch south of Ouray late sunday afternoon and augered in pretty hard. He split his good knee open since he wasn't wearing knee s...

Re: Moab, Sept 8th
Kevin, give me a call and I'll loan you my Charles Wells book on Moab 4wd trails. I've been twice, the most recent was in 2000. We did the easier stuff, White Rim, Gemini Bridges, Klondike Bluffs. I would think it's still going to be hotter than the dickens on the west side but doable early morning....

Sounds like you're having a good time, but we'd really like to see the french chicks. I think it's Striking Viking on ADV that says you need a camera with the pivoting fold out display to sneak good babe pictures. I bet there are walmarts and such up that way, I'd go ahead and get one if I were you ...

Congrats! That thing is sweet! I was supposed to get a test ride on a buddy's 950 at the white cloud ride. Too bad he had to cancel. :( I'm going to be wanting something newer before too long, kind of wonder how the new 690 in dual sport trim would suit me. I could get used to a six speed again. no ...
