Re: Riding In Colorado
On a slightly different subject, does anybody know of a GPS map that shows the single track in the Taylor Park/Sargents area? I've looked at some sample maps and they were not very complete in regards to the single track. I'm thinking of buying the Garmin 24k topo map of colorado if it includes sin...

Re: Glade Top June 2nd and 3rd
In case anyone is interested, here is an old photo of the mill. Used to be not very friendly looking snakes that lived in the rocks down by the water. Cool Stuff! Thanks for the pics, detailed report and tracks! :D My buddy Marty showed me the location of Eagle Ranch near Collins. He told me they t...

Cool, was up that way a few weeks ago north of Forest City to check out an old house Phil Denk posted a pic of. Last weekend was the ADV SLAP rally, good times until my buddy broke his leg.

Nice work on the tracks Troy! May run into you guys somewhere, starting and returning to Nevada. Why are you starting and ending in Nevada? You working a job down there, katbeanz? Buddy Marty lives there, ADV Redburn. You'd have met him if you'd been at Eddie's garden party. The bonfire was epic! :...

Nice to meet you Phil, guess I just missed you at Letko yesterday when I picked up a new front. Had a nice chat with Jim L about our days of yore.
If the weather's OK, Marty and I may hook up with DRZCharlie and ride friday, saturday out of Eureka Sprgs.

Rear wheel hop is often too much possum scraper clearance, try the next lower setting.
Those look nice! I ran a circuitous route back from the morel patch, it would tie in nicely with Troy's Plattsburg route. I wasn't on a bike though.

I set out to ride this a couple years ago, but it was very dusty for the size group we had. I did ride part of your weston track a week ago, bluff woods is very cool.

Re: March 16-17: Where are we riding?
There are some more remote roads way up along the river--to the East of where our route heads up to White Cloud. Incorporate some of those! I poked around over there a bit, there are some neat old forgotten homesteads, a school sized brick building in ruins I wish I'd gotten a pic of. Conditions we...

Re: Eureka Springs Arkansas Hillibilly tour March 29-31 201
I don't recall it being too bad, I would encourage you to hook up with someone to ride with of similar ability. I've ridden it solo couple years ago, and Uncle Dave let me ghost in and out of his group a bit. My favorite part was kinda SW of Jasper in the Castle Bluffs area, never been able to find ...

I registered today, lots of interesting stuff. The overlays for Motor Vehicle Use maps could make dealing with that almost tolerable. They also appear to show parcels of private land and wilderness boundaries.

Re: What GPS to purchase??
I got my 600 from gpscity.com. It didn't come with a micro sd, so I used the original 64mb that came in my 60csx until I decide how big a card to get. I loaded N. MO garmin 2008 topo using mapsource with no issue, but as mentioned there are several free maps at gpsfiledepot. I am very impressed with...

Re: What GPS to purchase??
Santa delivered a Montana 650t!!!! Now I'm getting familiar with BaseCamp because they are phasing out MapSource. I just pulled the trigger on a Montana 600, post in ADV said it can use my old 2008 Garmin Topo and a couple hundred tracks of 10,000 points each. And Basecamp is free, isn't it...
