Birdman, did you make it down to see the riders and their bikes in Augusta or Parsons?

Re: Skunkwerks

Funny...they had a website because I visited it, but now can't find it. They have a defunct Facebook page, but I think it was a regular website I visited. In fact, when they found out I am a web developer, they asked me to take a look at their current site and bid for a new, modern site. http://i.im...

Re: KTM 500 EXC cooling system overhaul

While stopped on the trail this past weekend, I asked Bo about his "2017" CO sticker on his Husky. He explained he rode Taylor Park with you guys. He also shared the story of his super tape solution for your broken radiator hose. Definitely some great stuff to put in the kit! James, an easier, cheap...

Re: Walter's ranch

Sorry you got hurt, Ed. Be patience and heal! I put 880 miles on my F800GS this past weekend. Some of those miles were the gnarliest, toughest stuff I've ever put her through. Had her loaded with camping gear and had to pick her up 3 times. Ugh. She feels like a dirt bike until I have to pick her up...

Skunkwerks

I'm braving the rain and riding today through Sunday or Monday. Wanted a new rear knobby on the F800GS. The boys at Skunkwerks in Springfield, MO put a new Shinko 805 on in less than 6 minutes! That's from bike rolling onto lift to ready to go. $130 all in. Fantastic. They engineer their own product...

Re: Oct 22 & 23, 2016: Dragoo ADV/Dualsport Training in Grain Valley, MO

I heard from Bill. It sounds like they are struggling a little bit to accommodate the number of people who want to take the class and working on a solution that includes a possible venue change to a location closer to KC. That said, don't hesitate to call David. Let us know what you find out. No dou...

Re: 2 Stroke Engineering | Where do we go from here?

The article goes into considerable detail on those issues and more and offers some possible solutions. All of those Solutions however add up to considerable complexity in the design over conventional two strokes.

I don't think he mentions it but those additional components mean more weight as well

That is odd. I guess I'd call David. 816-699-2563.

I emailed Bill last night to see if I could help. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

Re: 2 Stroke Engineering | Where do we go from here?

Agreed on the complexity. As I was reading that article, I was thinking, "yeah, but the real beauty of the 2 stroke is simplicity". If it becomes as complex (and expensive) as a 4 stroke, it will still be a win in power efficiency I guess.

If I ride down, I'll have my camping gear on the bike, so won't bother packing the banner. Otherwise, yeah!

Glad you enjoyed the minutia! I sent a courtesy email to all 97 accounts just to let them know in case any of them actually did care. So far 38 of the email addresses have bounced as non deliverable. Not one person has replied, so pretty sure I didn't remove any accounts that anybody cared about. An...

Re: Post pics or video from your ride today

I checked everything I could but even with that I still came across gated and or cabled roads that had no trespassing or private driveway signs. In some cases I had already traveled more than two miles down a gravel road that had a standard green street sign at the beginning, only to find a gate ma...

Oops! I edited the poll to remove Sep 10 & 11 since it is too late for those days and it's too muddy anyway. However, it seems that this reset the poll and the prior votes were lost. :(

So please re-vote and I know now not to mess with the poll once created. Sorry.
