Private Messages Outbox

I just "discovered" a cool feature. I had sent a couple of Private Messages but noticed they were "stuck" in my Outbox instead of moving to my Sent folder. Since we are all used to how normal email works, I thought there was a problem, so I researched this. Turns out, there is nothing wrong, and in ...

For those who prefer maillists

Maillists such as the Yahoo Groups maillists are very useful tools. I personally belong to kcdualsports, midwest-dualsporters, and Flint Hills Adventure Riders. What I don't like about maillists is that EVERYBODY gets every message. For general announcements, this is great. However, how many times h...

Re: Something for the Ladies

Troy, Hey Bro! Great job on the forum, it looks great. I would like to request a "WIVES SUPPORT GROUP" area for us women. I have enjoyed your forum. Love you, Nica :P HEY, Nica! Wow! A real live GIRL on the forum. Is this against the forum rules?! JUST KIDDING. We could name the forum "Dualsport Wi...

No, but if I go back and setup a geocache, I'll put my bent handlebars and perhaps a piece of my ribs in there. As for burnout, that should not be a problem for me as long as I'm getting to ride. If this forum gets used to help facilitate riding, that will keep me encouraged. I have my first child o...

Troy's Ride Photos

I have a lot of photos from most of my rides over the last year, but I don't have any central place to access them from. So here is a list of all my dualsport photos. Enjoy the links below. 2005 August 28, 2005 September 4, 2005 September 11, 2005 September 16, 2005 September 17, 2005 September 18, ...

24 Hours, 19 Registered Users, 48 posts!

RideForum.NET has only been online about 24 hours, but I'm very encouraged by the momentum we have going. There are a LOT of BackroadsTouring riders that I know, but do not know how to contact them to tell them about RideForum.NET. If any of you have a way to contact any of these guys (and a ton tha...

Thanks Troy! ...am curious what your costs are to put this together. ONE MILLION DOLLARS Actually, I was able to put this together for slightly less than that. OK, actually, other than my time, it has been "free". You see, I develop Internet applications for a living, run a small hosting business o...

Yeah, you know me--anything I can do to help a fellow rider. Actually, I'm still hurting quite a bit--I still feel stupid about that accident--it seemed so silly, but I just got out of control and WHAM! David, we really appreciate your willingness to let people come over and ride! It is defi...

Kudos to you Troy for stepping up to the plate and taking on such a monumental task. I personally do not know the first thing about website admin. but I'm sure it takes a level of commitment that most would shy away from. Very admirable actions. Only confirms your passion and enthusiasm for the spo...

A Hassle-Free Forum

Running an active community forum website can require a lot of time to keep things smooth. I want all of you to know that as much as possible I want to refrain from "policies", "rules", and other "restrictions". However, anarchy is not feasible when dealing with a large, diverse community. The only ...

I am banning xr-nut from the board because this forum will not tolerate people who only type in large, red font! 8) It seems pretty clear the GPS Routes Library feature is a winner. I really hope to get that feature developed. Burn out is definitely a real concern, but as long as the community is ac...

That does sounds fancy---perhaps too fancy for my skeelz. I like it, though.

Actually, I do know how to use the Gmaps API, and you can do a lot with it. Maybe we can build something that helps locate routes by searching the map. 'll play with it....WHEN I have time. :)

Ha! That's actually a photo of my brother, Kyle. It's from late 2005 when he and I had KLR's. That photo is from an abandoned railroad bridge between Augusta and Wichita, KS. SURE, send me a photo or two. I'd like to create a library of banner photos and code it so they change randomly everytime you...

PLEASE read BEFORE posting

All members of the community are welcome to post personal items for sale. Items posted do not have to be motorcycle-related, but this is probably not the most appropriate place to sell your porceline doll collection. Unlike some other forums, you won't get flamed for posting craigslist ad links. If ...
