Alton Brown's Feasting On Asphalt
This is last minute, but if you miss it, you can catch it some time in the future when they replay the series. The Food Network's Alton Brown did a series called "Feasting on Asphalt" in which he and his camera crew ride from the east coast to the west coast on BMW touring bikes and check out "road ...

I figured they were not even legallly approved for road use...they don't say that there is any legal issue, but the heat issues don't surprise me. Mike (science dude), you'd probaby love reading their theories of why tires heat up. As for sustained speeds on pavement over 80 MPH---no worries with th...

I definitely LOVE the idea and don't see why they would not work. I've never heard of them before. I've heard of the foam inserts, though. Tim, do I need to come over and give you a personal tire changing seminar?! DRZ with a flat rear tire should not be any more than about a 30 minute hindrance tops! 8) I keep 2 rear and 2 front tubes in the garage and usually carry one of each on rides. I've not ridden since I bent my handlebars to h...

Whoa! Thanks for reminding me! I just set my DVR to record OLN (Channel 55 on Kansas City's Time Warner Cable). OLN has a daily 30 minute Dakar Highlights show. Last year, that was me who posted the videos. It was Australian coverage if I remember correctly--much better than our US coverage. I'll tr...

Very sexy. I like that Tre-K. Are the front turn signals built into the mirrors? That is cool and I like the space savings and "simplicity" of it....but I'd be breaking those darn things too often....kaching! Every time I see an adventure bike with a low front fender I wonder how many people get thr...

Also, anybody who buys any multi-cdrom Mapsource product may appreciate this tip -- you can copy the cdrom content to your harddrive, then install from your harddrive. This way, you never have to use the CDROMS/DVDs. Us midwest people really appreciate this because you'll find the TOPO maps are spli...
