Cabo for Car Seats

Each year, over $50,000 is needed to purchase car seats for kids as they are released to go home from the hospita...

Re: small bike luggage rack
Without a doubt, I prefer the weight on the bike rather than on me. For one thing, weight on the bike is lower center of gravity than weight on my back/shoulders. In my dirtbike group, I have a couple friends who prefer the big backpack solution--it's definitely an easy solution compared to figuring...

Re: Enclosed Trailer Question
Agreed with birdman. To comfortably haul 4 bikes and gear, etc, 12' minimum--that will be tight in the trailer trying to get around the bikes to tie things down, but works. 16 is a really nice size and makes a pretty nice dirtbike weekend "camping" trailer once you unload the bikes and air up your m...

Re: Create GPX Tracks using Kurviger
Geek Corner Abandon windows? That's pretty bold. Linux is pretty good and I use it inside of Virtual Box or VMWare for windows at work , but I am very unsure about the "daily driver" aspect of just using Linux. But if you need to know Linux and be an expert in it, you did it right, best to jump in,...

Thanks for sharing the videos and link!
I rode with both groups at the birdfarm trails. The rain was weird. We were told they got 2 inches just 4 miles north that morning. We got nothing on the birdfarm trails. The trails were perfect, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Re: Create GPX Tracks using Kurviger
I'm still creating routes in MapSource and converting them to tracks in Base Camp. I definitely understand your pain as I went through the Mapsource to Basecamp transition many years ago. Basecamp is SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Mapsource. It is different not only in how you interact with the map t...

Re: Create GPX Tracks using Kurviger
IMPORTANT update: In my video, I show you how to export as GPX which creates a compatible import file for Mapsource, Basecamp, most GPS devices, OsmAnd, etc. Most GPS related software "speaks" GPX. HOWEVER, for the purpose of saving your Kurviger work to work on later (using import to bring your fil...

Create GPX Tracks using Kurviger
Eddie (ajayhawkfan) tipped me off about https://kurviger.de/, a free, browser-based route planning tool. There are many of these tools out there, and I was relatively impressed with this one. I created a tutorial video to show you how to use it if you'd like to try it out. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: Kansas min maintenance not what it used to be
Yeah Progress! :-( Part of what you see is surely just lack of rain--as you suggest. Lots of roads when dry become doable in my minivan. When wet and the local kids tear it up in their monster trucks, it's a treacherous experience on my ADV bike. I'm thinking of the "River Road" from Leavenworth up ...

That's a good way to rev up shower time--puts a new spin on it. He looks tired. Nice to get clean from roost for a change.

"Why is RIdeForum Down?"
Over the last few weeks enough people asked me or otherwise indicated the site was not working that I had to assume there was a real issue affecting a significant portion of the audience. :-/ A while back, the site went 100% SSL (HTTPS). When I made that change, I messed up the bit that redirects ht...
