Great looking site!
I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" to whomever operates this forum! It's a great resource for the local motorcycle community. I know this stuff takes time, effort, and money--know that it's much appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Also, I really love the new look and feel!

Re: Illegally parked, perveted bikers ruining the Plaza
The postings following the article rapidly degenerated into rants that had nothing at all to do with bikers parking in time limited zones or in no parking zones and the bikers staring at the wait staff. Hard to tell from the report what exactly was going on. My observations of illegal parking on th...

Man, Chris, I wish. I've been heads down with a couple of projects. Plus I need to get my KTM 450 ready for Colorado. I hit Ouray and Telluride Aug 3 - 10.

Re: I am the GS Giant!
Congratulations, Eddie! I'm not completely aware of everything that goes into the competition, but I know it's a combination of riding a lot of miles to collect "GS points" and a tough competition in a closed course made up of several obstacles where dabbing a foot loses you points. There are also ...

Re: 2012 MOA Rally
I don't know if it's worth it or not, but I imagine it would be a good time. I'd like to go, but like you, not for $100 just for Sat or even Sat & Sun. The event started Sun night when guys arrived at Byrd's Adventure Center near Oark, AR. They are doing 2 or 3 days riding down there then making the...

Btw, I improved YouTube embedding for this forum. Now, when creating a post, you just click the YouTube button then paste the video URL between the tags.

Re: Embed media items in your posts
PICASA album embedding currently broken. Sorry! Picasa Album Slideshow This one is a bit tricker to use, but easy enough. Again, use the 'picasa' button in the posting editor. Then you must paste something between the tags. What you paste part of the Picasa album RSS link. When on your album page i...

Re: County Maps - Missouri
Is it just me or are the county maps in NW Missouri just not very good? If you are talking about the MODOT maps found using the link here: http://www.rideforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1180 ...then yes, they are not very accurate. The KDOT maps are highly accurate in my experience. The MO and AR DOT...

Re: Newb Checking in! (with questions)
DR650s don't come up as often as KLR650s, that's for sure. The DR650 is a great machine, and feels SO MUCH lighter than a KLR650. I've ridden a DR650 for a few miles, but not near as much as the KLR650 I owned. I'm not sure where a KLR650 would excel over a DR650. My point is, I would not hesitate t...

http://jonesboro.craigslist.org/mcy/3124903610.html http://stlouis.craigslist.org/mcy/3129372502.html Both look like great deals and only a day trip away. The Alton, IL one was obviously garaged while the AR one was not. The AR guy also indicates it "may need the carb cleaned". You don't say that i...

Re: Illegally parked, perveted bikers ruining the Plaza
NOT Politically Correct Allert The old men sitting at Latte Land have never been a threat to public safety like some of the roaming bands of feral kids. Oh really?! Those old men made me very uncomfortable undressing me with their eyes. I'm not a piece of man-candy for their enjoyment! Specifically...

Illegally parked, perveted bikers ruining the Plaza
Shocking stuff.

Basically the only bit of truth I could gather from the article is that the motorcycles are illegally parked longer than the 15 minute time. The rest is hysterically exaggerated.

Re: Newb Checking in! (with questions)
Stu's advice is spot on. I'm telling you -- STOP WORRYING ABOUT THIS. TWO REASONS: #1 NO FINANCIAL RISK Go out and buy ANY USED "dualsport" motorcycle that is at least 3 years old. You will have a blast on it and make some great memories. The reason you don't need to worry is that you can almost cer...

Re: Disney OK anyone?
My brother, KC, has ridden there and has good things to say about it. I'm hoping he'll reply to give some details. It is more oriented for rock crawlers, but my brother said he had plenty of fun on quads and motorcycles there. If I had to guess, I would say perhaps it is like the Randolph 4x4 area i...

Re: '07 565 KTM EXC
Too bad that KTM's "Alpina", the 350 Freeride, is not being imported until 2013. Rumor is that a member of this board had (or is having?) a Freeride 350 brought in. I'm extremely jealous and hoping for a test ride. I won't give out any names, but if he (or she) chooses to reply here, we'd all welco...
