Re: Pit bikes

Sounds like you guys have never tried it. I've got a friend in Liberty who has a smallish-sized track in his back yard with six bermed turns and one small table top that he built for his twin boys (four year olds at the time, now six, soon to be the next Carmichaels.) We go out and tear it up on TTR...

Wow.

I've been interested in the Sikk trails bike since it came out, but I'm still waiting for someone to really step up and put it through it's paces before I was gonna go and drop $1500 on a play bike. So when I get bored I occasionally do a search on it and see whats out there. Today I came across an ...

Re: Dakar '08 Canceled

http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/rally/34730/ It's about Baja. It follows the Millin (big money) FJ entry and the FJ that was entered by a bunch of guys from Ohio (I think?) who entered the race for the first time, with no sponsership and no professional help. It's actually pretty interesting. Ian

Not the actual route, I'm sure, but Dakar-rats none-the-less.

Next year save your pennies boys and girls. Dakar 2009, South America.

Re: Dakar '08 Canceled

The other good thing that might come of it is a N. American "Dakar" Or at least an American "Dakar" (maybe Brasil) Brasil's a lot closer and easier to get to than Dakar. Heck, we could all ride down to Brasil.

Re: Dakar '08 Canceled

Yeah, I've been having fits all day. I understand the decision was hard, but it seems like it was made without alot of input. None of the ASO approached any of the race teams, as far I can tell. If anything, financially speaking, they should have at least run the first few days to the Moroccan borde...

Dakar '08 Canceled

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290068 Here's the Dakar thread from ADV. Today's posts start about page 9. As of about 8 A.M. our time the ASO closed scrutineering and called an emergency riders meeting. There they stated the the terrorist threat in Mauritania was too great a risk to...

I've also got a great dual-sport ride from KC to their front door if anyone is interested. Some curvy highway, some fun gravel, even some hardpacked dirt.

Re: FIM World Championship Enduro

Finally started watching my Tivo's of these. I've run some hare scrambles, but some of this stuff is haggard. Just watched Portugal and Spain rounds, I would never, ever, consider that the kind of racing that would or could be considered fun by any stretch of the imagination. It just looks like lots...

Re: Honda made the same mistake as Yamaha!! '08 CRF230L

But all of these manufacturers make big-displacement dirt oriented dual sports that they don't bring here. The Africa Twin, the Tenere, etc... I think that the marketing groups still think the market in the U.S. doesn't exist for the larger displacement versions of these bikes. The models that are a...
