Hey guys....how ya been?

How's everyone doing around here. I have not been on here since I sold my KLR last year and moved to Texas, then Iowa. Lots new here. Bougt a 94 VFR last year, sold it in April it was beat up from the feet up. Put 5K miles on it and made $200 http://30bones.smugmug.com/photos/180023907_Gg3eE-M.jpg B...

Re: New bike for Troy? DR350SE for sale?

I heard you were ditching ol' faithful Troy. FWIW, I have ridden a 610 and it was a rocket, too much for anything I could handle on a single track. Guy in Houston had a KTM 525 and it was lifting front tires in 3rd through Sam Houston National Forest. He has a set of moto wheels for street duties. I...

Re: Garmin 60CSx, $350, Cabela's

Good deal. I love my 60cs, but need more memory now going on longer trips. Would like to just have the lower 48 loaded and ready to go. That CSx would be the cats pajamas for me. Too bad I just dropped $700 in riding gear and bags

Kawasaki Versys...My $0.02

I took a ride Saturday over to the Illinois side (I am in Iowa now  )to look at the new Versys since my dealer here can not seem to get one in. He did not give me a price on my KLR which was okay, I was not going to buy the Versys. I just brought him in pics and a list of extras for him...

Re: Dual Sport ride in Soutwest Wisconsin!

I know it's a haul (especially from Ft. Scott), but if you are ever up here to ride, hit me up. I am pretty familiar with that area as well as around Cedar Rapids, IA. Parents have a cabin in Lansing, IA I can use anytime also.

It is beautiful up there! Love being back home

Dual Sport ride in Soutwest Wisconsin!

Some pics have captions. I did not take much since it rained ALL day Saturday, and POURED 4" that night. My tent was full and my gear was soaked. I split the last room at a bed and breakfast with another rider. http://30bones.smugmug.com/gallery/3252180#180022159 547 miles round trip and I feel fine...

Anyone want to make a trek up to NE Iowa August 3rd?

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236843 I am going to make it and can accommodate riders at my house in Cedar Rapids, Ia and/or at my parents cabin in the NE corner of the state in Lansing, Ia. It's about 130 miles and 2-2.5 hours from my door to theirs on slab which is a mix of minim...

It's a fun place. I went there when I got into 4x4's back in 97?? Don't think vehicles are allowed there anymore for good reasons. Not so fun on a KLR though. I ride there when I had my Raptor 660 a TON!!! That place is a blast on 4 wheels or a MX bike. I broke two ribs and dislocated my thumb and s...

Galveston Cruise March 4th

Here was out route Sunday. Colder than I thought, 50's most of the ride. I tallied 325 by the time I got home. Good trip. A lot different than rides up in KC. All slab, I was the only dual sport, VERY large mix of bikes from me to a 'Busa, to a Triumph Speedie. Three female riders, and two of them c...

Congrats, Chris. I know that is a huge weight off your shoulders. Breathe easier, my friend. Try not to rub our noses too hard in the fact you are not under snow and ice down there. 8) I think it was 64 when I woke up and high in the 70's today. I will be complaining when the heat comes, trust me.

Sold my house!!!!!!!!!!

Been on the market a couple months I imagine. Listed for 117,500. Sold for 117, but I have to buy a home warranty and pay 3200 in closing costs to get her to buy it. Not going to make much since I was only there a couple years, but it's better than nuttin. I don't have to pay $800+/mo in payments an...

Oh yeah!! Toyotas will last a long time as long as you do the minimum maintenence. I work at an auto repair facility we constantly see camrys corrolas and 4runner with 200,000 + miles on them we usually through a set of plugs and wires in them and they're back on the rode racking up more miles. sam...

Re: Chris

It was nice to ride with you a couple of times. I think of the first ride with you cause of your mishap. We were a couple of miles north of Easton Ks. and I saw a farm field road that looked interesting and stopped so our group could figure out if we wanted to give it a try. I had been leading all ...

Thanks all. I am excited to start a new chapter so to speak.

I am sure I will be hating it come summer, but will just have to deal with it. Everyplace has crappy weather in some way or another.

Just wanted to say thanks for the good times and I will try to drop in from time to time.

Take care
