Re: Messed up my knee riding yesterday

 NNOOO :!: Dang, Mike...sorry to hear that. I was doing the same thing in a buddy's field the other day. I was practicing holding a wheelie while hard shifting from first to second and remembering to cover the rear brake. Luckily for me, I never had to stab my foot down so I will try to remem...

Re: Damned Petcock

Here's a tip that you won't need anymore with your new and improved petcock: I know mine and Mike J.s old DRZ are the same way...If you turn the petcock off and remove fuel line it gushes out like Niagara Falls. I simply leave the petcock in the ON position and yank the fuel line off. It doesn't lea...

Re: Memorial Day Dual Sport

Doesn't look like anyone wants to go ride the Smokies  Looks like there are plenty of beautiful places to ride out East, the problem is that I am not ready to prioritize a week long trip out there yet. The Smokies are definately on my hit list to ride in the near future.

TRAIL RIDE AT SCHOOL CREEK SUNDAY MARCH 15

The weather looks good and I am itching to get out and ride some trails :!: I am driving up to Milford/School Creek tomorrow with a friend. We plan on being there around 11. Blow the dust off those bikes and come on out. We have room for 4 if a couple more from the Wichita area want to haul up with ...

Maxxis M6006 dual-sport tires?

Bike Bandit currently has these Maxxis tires for a pretty good price...under $100 for a set. http://www.bikebandit.com/product/3690?WT.mc_id=959451 I was wondering if anybody has some experience with these tires. They look to have a good aggressive tread pattern for off-road, although not as aggress...

The Next Best Dual-Sport??

I stopped in at N-Motion Yamaha in Wichita today while goofing off for Veteran's Holiday. An old buddy of mine I haven't seen in a couple years is co-owner of the place so I wanted to check it out. He wasn't there at the time but I figured I'd just wander the showroom for a few minutes....I didn't m...

Re: Has Phones become too much?

I still carry a motorola pager for work. It's how our calls are dispatched...and also how I read my daily horoscope. I guess having a cell phone is easier than looking for the nearest pay phone to call in on and say, "Yeah, I got the page." I haven't used that old 1-800 number in years, will...

Re: Has Phones become too much?

Ok, I admit, cell phones are extremely useful and have revolutionized our lives, especially in the way we conduct business. But...life was just fine without them too. I seem to have a love/hate relationship with technology. I love computers and cool gadgets. They are a lot of fun most of the time. T...

Re: Has Phones become too much?

I HATE mobile phones...I would like to take mine with me on the DRZ out to Colorado, ride up to the top of a 14,000 ft. peak and chuck it as far as I can so I can watch it break into a million pieces. yeah, that's what I'd do with it.

On a brighter note, I don't feel so bad for "just dropping" your brand new Beamer in the woods now.

Re: Kansas Gypsum Hills, Medicine Lodge, Oct 3rd, 4th

Had a great ride, 385 miles total for me for the day. There were 8 riders on Saturday, everything from an XT225 to a 1200GSA! The Vstrom w/ stock tires proved to be a challenge for me in the loose silty sandy corners and the hilly section with inches deep blue rock dumped on them....totally uncalled...

Props to Kyle, I've never seen that much sky under a DRZ before! Were the landings harsh? :D Surprisingly..NO. Re: Kansas Gypsum Hills, Medicine Lodge, Oct 3rd, 4th

I'm planning on riding down Saturday morning and may have one more along as well. I've never spent time in the Gyp Hills and look forward to the scenery. Not planning on spending the night, just riding for the day and heading back to Wichita.
