Re: Carb Cleaner ~ = Brake Clean. Beware ...
I worked for a high pressure hydraulic clamp manufacture (5000 psi). We use wipers, seals and o rings made from about any type of compounds available with a wide range of durometers. We have used electrical contact cleaner for over 15 years for cleaning and displacing oil (checking for leaks) with n...

Good Post! It might be helpful on those cold mornings in camp for light jumping.
I have my Battery Tender, volt meter, USB charger, Slime pump and heated gear running off that plug.

Re: 11th Manhattan Fun Ride, Sept 21st!
Anything is possible, but with this new business venture HIGHLY doubtful. The old days of Joe buying whatever bike he wanted are sadly behind me. Here is what to do ;-) New Adventure Raid class: The new Adventure Raid class replaces last years Safari Class. Adventure Raid is intended as an introduc...

Re: Dual Sport Vs. Adventure Bikes
I have two friends that have bought 2018 KTM 500 EXC-F. One has lived in Pueblo his whole life and is a hard core 300 - 2 stroke, very technical good rider. He has or is about ready to sell his late model 300. To me, that says a lot of how good he thinks the new 500 is. But, KTM is living high right...

Re: Create GPX Tracks using Kurviger
I've got to start doing something different. I'm still creating routes in MapSource and converting them to tracks in Base Camp. I still don't like using Base Camp. Unfortunately, I have to download my Montana to Base Camp but I copy and paste what I want in MapSource and save the file with it. I did...

Re: Lewis And Clark Trail
Have fun Eddie, some great places to see.
I have paddled the Missouri Breaks twice, would love to do it again.
Ken Burns "The Journey of the Corps of Discovery" had just came out before my first trip up there. I enjoyed that so much Sally bought me the VHS tapes.

Re: On the road diet
When I was planning riding the DAKAL, I found grocery stores along the route and called them. Got their hours and what they have for sale. I could not believe how helpful people were - "No, we don't have any fresh meat but we do have 8oz imitation crab (Pollack), fresh bread and dressing, makes a go...

Re: On the road diet
There are many good options right in the grocery store; Stove Top Stuffing - 5 minutes and hot water. Add some cut up precooked bacon while adding the hot water to the cornbread one. This can turn people around real quick who are cold and wet. The chicken in foil packages is pretty good for adding t...

I did, very little retreating and re-routing. Most of the water crossing were down but the big rivers were roaring.
I never get tired of riding down there, and the hardball riding is even better.
