Re: RIDER DOWN PRAYERS SENT OUT

Good thoughts and prayers are sent out to this Rider and his family. He's a great guy and I hope his chances for recovery are better than previously mentioned.

Re: Wife crashed

I've seen the piroutte twice in my dual-sporting career. Once was a little over a year ago when Troy did one coming up a steep incline down behind David Hemphill's place south of Lawrence. The second time was just last weekend when King David himself showed us all how to exit from the back of a Husq...

Re: Wabaunsee County - Sunday 6/01

Larry, thanks for setting up a great ride. It was good to ride with you and the other guys this weekend. I had to go nearly 22 mph to keep up. I guess that's life in the fast lane, huh. Wabaunsee county has some fun roads with some great scenery, especially with everything so green. That was one gre...

Re: Wabaunsee County - Sunday 6/01

I got the clutch cable issue fixed so unless the weather turns bad I'll be there. I didn't realize it was going to be all fast guys and me.

Re: Wabaunsee County - Sunday 6/01

Larry, if I can get the XR clutch adjustment figured out I'll join you. I'll probably trailer to Paxico and see you at 10:00 a.m. If I can't make it I'll send you and email Saturday so you'll know not to wait on me.

Re: Progressive Suspension???

I would say, "definately, YES!" I replaced the fork springs almost immediately with Progressive springs and it made a big difference. A couple years later, Dual Star had the Progressive rear shock "on sale." I needed to replace the rear shock anyway so I sprung for the Progressive. All I can say is,...

Re: Sunflower Loop

Camping vs Motel - There are a lot of Mom and Pop motels across Kansas and the prices are usually pretty reasonable, especially split two or three ways. It would save on the amount of stuff to haul along and it would also let the riders clean up after spending the day riding dusty or muddy roads. I ...

Re: Sunflower Loop

I would like to do this if it doesn't conflict with a ride in Utah that some of us are planning. I am pretty familiar with the backroads in the northwest counties. It would be fun if we could spend a half day or so riding several of the roads that run through the Arikaree Breaks, especially the one ...

Re: Where's Hayden today???

Had same problems with dehydration on a trip through New Mexico, Arizona and Utah earlier this summer. Temperatures were hitting 103. Found out that Gatorade and V-8 Juice, along with water will keep your body properly hydrated. If you wait until you're thirsty to drink, it's too late.

I can't go but last Fall when I was there for the BMW rally, I talked to a guy who was riding a DRZ400 on the dual-sport trails and having a great time. He showed me a map, available for purchase in the Ski Lodge, which shows the trails. Looks like a lot of fun riding. If you go it will be interesti...

Yesterday was a great day to ride at Milford. There were seven of us, Tim, Mark, David, David, Larry, Torrie and Roger. Even though it was a weekend, the trails both east and west of the parking lot were virtually empty. Occasionally there was another rider but not enough that anyone got in anybody ...

Milford ORV Park - Saturday, 12/16

Mark and I are hauling out to the Milford ORV park on Saturday, 12/16, at about 10:00 a.m. We usually stop at the A&W just west of Junction City for a sandwich, then head to the ORV park. We'll probably arrive between 11:30 & noon. I'm taking an XR400 and Mark will have his KLX300. Anyone is welcome...

Mark and I both tried to get a tags in Shawnee County. Mark's bike is a KLX300 that has all the necessary equipment to be street legal. Because the title says off-road only, the inspector in Shawnee county would not allow a tag to be issued. My XR400 came from Nebraska where the guy had it tagged. T...

There have been some good deals on the Garmin Street Pilot 27xx models in the papers. WalMart had an online offer that was an excellent price. These models came preloaded with all the City Navigator v8 maps which are the latest.
