Thanks for the advise, Daryl. I have seen those, and have heard they are great. My only concern is with how hard I ride in the gnarly stuff. I'd hate to damage a seat that expensive. I suppose I could use it on d/s rides, and put my stocker back on for trails, though.

Well, I didn't say without a sweat, I said with barely a sweat. If I had to make a total guess, I would say by example a bike with a 7k redline, at 65 in 6th my 400 would be at around 4k to 4.5k?? Of course, my range is more than this, but I'm not sure what it is. This is a complete guess, and...

Motorcycle Closeouts: Yipeeeeeee!!!!!
I know these guys are one of the forum's favorites, so this really isn't necessary, but I had to share. The people there are always willing to take the time to answer any questions you have, and do whatever they can to make sure you are happy. They really go out of their way. I needed some gear befo...

Troy, everything Mo is saying is pretty much spot on. I did A LOT of research before I bought my 400. I had a tough time, like you, deciding between, short/long stroke, 400/450/510/525 cc, short/wide ratio trans. I had a chance to ride the 450 EXC, 400 MXC, 525 EXC, LC4 640, and, obviously, my 400 E...

It's easy to change. Did mine and two others with friends. There's plenty of info on the net on how to do this. You will need the "special" flywheel wrench and puller. You can usually find guys passing these around on the KLR forums. Chances are, yours is not broken (you would know), and will not br...

MAN! WHAT A DAY!!
Well, Kyle and Doug, I don't know about you guys, but I was freek'n beat, and a little tender in places, on Sunday! I don't know about you. The day went great! Mid 60's, sun shining, light breeze, a perfect day for sailing, or tearing up some dirt at Milford ORV. I think Doug was the only one who ca...

Well guys, I think I'll make it up on my own. I have a trailer, and may go up Friday night, stay over at my parents, and go early on Saturday. The weather is supposed to be wet the a.m., though, and only up to low 60's. Sunday is partly cloudy and low 70's. Any chance to go up then? I'll go either d...

I think my wife may be going with me. This depends on whether my mom and sis will be there, too. I'd hate to have you pull the trailer for one bike, though. I may be able to borrow a friend's truck and follow. Who knows, I may be able to find another to go with, too. My dad lives in Herington, about...

Ok, dad's in. We'll have a good guide. Weather permitting, I'll be there. According to weather.com, as of now anyway, it's looking like mid-60's and overcast. Chance of rain is only 10%. It may rain a couple of days before, though. Looks like it may be the only factor, for now. A little rain would m...

Dealer/Product review: Dual Sport America a.k.a. California
Dual sport kit was mostly UFO with a Trick Dual Sport harness. So, the product was good, and the price was good. I got the system for $425. The service, on the other hand, was terrible. Lee Shaw, don't know if he's the owner or just a rep, wouldn't give me straight answers to any of my questions. Fo...
