Re: BMW's GS Trophy, Tunisia!

Eddie, I learned a lot about 12GS's for such a brief encounter. There are those who have ridden them for years who could certainly do a better job and please, if you are one of those, correct me where I am wrong...but here's my take on a few characteristics. Sand. The front end will plow, a normal c...

Re: BMW's GS Trophy, Tunisia!

Hey, Guys. Sorry to let everyone down. The deal is, I rode pretty dang good. Most agreed I was easily in the top three and my score supported that. I goofed big time in the sand extraction test. I am not a big GS rider...only had a few hours training. The others except for Brianne have considerable ...

Re: BMW's GS Trophy, Tunisia!

I did that to see if you read the danged magazine! I see it worked.

I knew you'd take it in the spirit it was intended. You, my friend, deserve all the heckling you get. It's like the best coach getting the ice chest. We really do love you, Man.

Re: GS Trophy down to the wire!

Are you kidding? Troy, this is you, right? Dude, you fly on that Husky! I enjoyed sitting back and watching you work your magic on that speed machine. Did you see your picture in Adventure Motorcycle... or was yours in Ride Oklahoma? I'd have to check again now to be sure. Bill Dragoo Norman, Oklahoma

GS Trophy down to the wire!

How do you say " Hi, y'all" in French? I'm working on that. Last Spring, I posted the results of the American Adventure Rider's Challenge, a big bike skills competition I was fortunate enough to have won back in May, see link below: http://www.dirtrider.com/news/141_08...nge/index.html As with most ...

BMW's GS Trophy, Tunisia!

Guys, sorry I haven't been hanging out here since my brief visits around the time of our April Fool's ride. If you missed Troy's picture in Adventure Motorcycle/Dual Sport News, be sure to check out back issues. It'll make a great dartboard! Also, I have been asked by BMW North America to share some...

Re: Bills the man

I have always felt that combining trials training with a dual sport class would be a winner. Honestly, it's easier to ride a big bike when you aren't trying to lever the thing up with a foot on the ground. A large mass in motion tends to stay in motion as long as the human mass on board stays on boa...

Re: Bills the man

Hey, Thanks, guys. I really lucked out at the Challenge. KTM loaned me a brand new 950 Super Enduro. That bike is like having your own pet dragon that will do anything you ask it to. Very nice. Docile, yet there's fire in the belly when you want it. I think you're on to something with the local Adve...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Hey, Troy, Sean or Tom. Heck, even Jonathan can answer if you're online. I am working on one of the stories about our trip last weekend and I need to confirm spelling of Johathan's last name. I wrote it down, but it was difficult for me to read my writing. I have (Kaesgen). Is this correct? Also, if...

Roger that, Tom. I'd ride with you guys anytime! If you're coming south at all, let me know. I'd like to come up your way too, but it'll be awhile before I get the chance to go that far.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Hey, Guys, I just wouldn't feel right unless I threw my own thanks into the mix. You were all great to ride with, and that is an understatement. With all the slicing and dicing going on, empty bellies (except in the evenings) and fuel tanks, rocks, mud and rain, mettle was tested to the limits, but ...
