Re: Sep 6-7, 2008 ROAD TRIP?!

Glad it all went well Troy. What kind of MPG do the 650's get? Our 1000 got a low of 38 and a high of 44 on our last trip loaded with as much stuff as we could get on it. I see that you have a very big top case on yours, maybe at least 42 liters or more? We're looking for bigger cases as we speak, ...

Re: Sep 6-7, 2008 ROAD TRIP?!

Hey Troy, when did you get a Strom? Wee or Vee? We just returned from a 2000 mile Colorado round trip on our 1000 yesterday! Some of the highlights were riding over Lizardhead pass for the first time, riding down a 16% grade into Black Canyon near Gunnison and riding to the top of Pikes Peak. http:/...

Re: Off road ride this weekend 4/26 Sterling Ranch

Hey Kansas crew, I just read an article in Roadrunner magazine about a dualsport tour through eastern Kansas. Wow, you guys do have a few hills and such in your state. I thought Kansas was flat as a board, we may have to come up for a visit the next time you guys have a planned ride.

See ya, Randy.

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

We had to do some surgery of our own on Russells cast, he couldnt get his hand around the throttle on his bike. He said that just wasnt right. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee50/randyktm/DSCN0902.jpg So we broke out the Dremel tool and went to work: http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee50/randy...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

And Randy( KTM 525), when I washed the mud off my KLX, there wasn't much plastic or a bit of glass left that could be salvaged. My chest protector looked like Samurai armor after an attack on a 50 caliber machine gun nest. Even my pocket knife was busted by a rock! Talk about a "Rooster!" Whew! I c...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

As if the day wasnt bad enough, Phillip accidently locked his keys in the truck (he swore that Josh did it though) after riding all the way back to the lodge to get it in order to retrieve Russells bike. Here Daryl is holding the end of a long piece of rebar that he found in the farmers junk pile as...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

St. Louis crew, ditto on Chad's comments, a super ride. I need some help however, I would be indebted to that special someone with a camera who snapped a shot of my buddy on Saturday at the big creek crossing, the one where you had to follow the bank to the left for about 200 feet before you could ...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Well we're back, most everybody else is still on the road I suppose. We were on the way to a great weekend, albeit wet, when Russell, one of our Okie group had a bad crash and broke his elbow and many ribs in the process. Luckily, he and my brother Daryl are EMT's and knew exactly what to do in this...

Tom: I was just thinking what a blast we all had in WV riding through the monsoon...rain water filling the trails and the puddles growing to pools. That was one of the best riding day I have ever had! Yea, needless to say, we had no dust issue's at Hatfield & McCoy on that ride! Those kinds of town...

Re: April 3-6, 2008: April Fool's Ride in Arkansas!

Man, I hav'nt seen the sun in a week and it hasnt really even rained here much. The eastern part of the state (Ok) and our planned riding area has been getting pounded for 2 weeks or better. The comments left above about how fast the area recovers are encouraging though, but hey, as long as Im sitti...
