Re: Blip Roasters

I haven't been, but I think they also host MotoGP viewings on race days. Might be worth stopping in.

Re: Chadwick May 28-31

Sorry to say, I didn't get any good pictures this week, but the riding was fantastic!! Looks like I've got a new favorite place to ride. Too bad it's a four hour drive to get there. There's a lot of rough stuff, and I saw quite a few broken bike parts (kick starter, case guard, etc.) laying around o...

Re: Chadwick May 28-31

clfarren5944, you used to have an ST3? Why'd you sell, if you don't mind me asking. I love my 4s. It's the best road bike I've owned, and I've had a few. I've ridden it to Colorado a couple of times, to Arkansas a few times, and this summer I'm riding it to Minnesota. Sweet ride on the hiway :D

Re: Chadwick May 28-31

If you are renting these cabins, you'll love them--great cabins and location. http://outdoor-inspirations.net/index.html That's where we're staying. Looks good on the website. I'll have the wife and kids along, so I probably won't get too deep or extreme, but I did get into the far end of Perry a c...

Chadwick May 28-31

I'm packing up the family and all our bikes and heading to Chadwick for a few days next week. We've rented a cabin near the ORV area and are planning to spend some quality time tearing it up.

This will be our first time at Chadwick, so any hints, tips or things to avoid? Your input is appreciated.

Re: Need a Trail Bike for My Son

We did it! I found a nice one owner 2000 XR100r on CL and grabbed it. It was listed for $700 and I got it for $500. It started right up (even with stinky old gas in it) and ran well. Shifts good too, and I couldn't make the clutch slip even with my extra weight on board. My son can get both feet on ...

Re: Need a Trail Bike for My Son

jsherm01 & danotech, Thanks for the offers, but I suspect both of your bikes are a little too new to fit my budget. I've got up to about $700 to spend, so I'm looking at something late 1990s. If I'm wrong about asking prices, let me know. I may pull the trigger this weekend. KC, By all means, jump i...

Need a Trail Bike for My Son

I'm looking at moving my 12 year old son from an ATV to a proper trail riding machine. He's never riden a motorcycle on his own before, so I'll be looking for something easy to start out on (i.e. four stroke), but will last him a couple of years before we have to trade up. Should also mention that h...

Re: oakland trails sunday 11-27-11

Slight change of plans for me. My wife, son and I will probably try Perry on Friday. I may still be up for something on Sunday but will have to play it by ear.

Re: oakland trails sunday 11-27-11

I'm thinking about going out tomorrow (Friday) if the rain holds off, but Sunday would be good too. I'm a dirt only guy though. Wouldn't be able to do the backroads.

Re: Semi-Noob, Now with a Ride!

My new rotor showed up last weekend, so I slapped it back together and it started on the second kick! I'm still a couple of weeks from healed, but I might need to get the DR out for a little bit this weekend. Whoo Hoo!

Re: Semi-Noob, Now with a Ride!

Thanks for the lead, Todd. I was able to get a used stator and rotor for ~$75 total, a lot less than I initially expected. Just waiting for the rotor to come in the mail, so I might have it back up and running this weekend. Too bad, I've still got three weeks left with the boot on my broken foot :x ...

Re: Semi-Noob, Now with a Ride!

I had a little spare time today, so I tore into my bike to try to find out what was causing my lack of spark. First, a little background is in order. When I bought the bike, the kick starter return spring was broken. It was pretty easy to fix, and while I had the engine cover off, I tried to find th...

Semi-Noob, Now with a Ride!

I’ve been lurking here for a few years but haven’t been much of a contributor due to the fact that I didn’t have a bike. Years ago when I was young and immortal, I used to race motocross and always thought it was about as much fun as a person could have. Since that time, I’ve always kept street bike...

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?

I realize this is a thread about where Kevin is going to sleep if he doesn't sell his Suzuki, but I wanted to change direction slightly. I got four bites on the KLR this past weekend, and the first person to come by and look at it gave me my asking price. I couldn't believe it. I never even got a ch...

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?

You did all the work just to Sell It?? http://kansascity.craigslist.org/mcy/1328588098.html Yeh, it's a long sad story, but you've got time, right? The boss (wife) can only tolerate one bike at a time so for me, the Ducati's it. But she's ok with a project bike as long as the plan is to sell it onc...

Re: What's a 1990 KLR650 Worth?

With those tires, I wouldn't look at getting too dirty yet. BTW, which is the before and which is the after pic :)? You're right, those tires aren't very aggressive, but maybe not as bad as they look in the picture. Problem is they're new and could last a while :? I guess I should have labeled the ...
